Hurrah, episode 2's up on Youtube! So I present more thoughts on Data Squad:
- Sayuri = no. Kristy = yes yes yessss. Plus, her "you sound like a married couple" line walking past Marcus and Yoshi was such a Rika line I was actually squeeing.
- I still prefer the Tamers evolution sequences. And I liked Frontier's better as well, come to think... though the Data Squad Digivolution music is a whole lot better than those jungle beats.
- Marcus is still an idiot, Agumon is still worse, Yoshino and Lalamon continue to be entirely unnotable in any way.
- Again, only one cringeworthy line (other than everything Sayuri said...): Marcus yelling as Kristy walks away.
- Thomas isn't as squeaky as Koichi. I liked Koichi's voice. :( Gaomon sounds okay, though.
- What is it with Yushima? Fairly sure he's not supposed to be creepy, but that's how I'm seeing him right now.
I'm still not going to look at the subs yet, though. I know what Masaru originally sounded like, and Marcus is ten times funnier. But I think I might actually like the show! Unexpected, huh?
