So the parents say they want a divorce. :\
I'd like to say it was surprising, only - yeah, you know how that sentence ends. Mum doesn't believe me and tells me I don't know what I'm talking about; in all the Chinese conversations they've ever had, even the screaming ones, they've been perfectly happy and civil and harmonious, and if I weren't an embarrassment I'd have been able to understand them.
I don't know - probably it's selfish - but I hope they both cool off and go back to the mildly dysfunctional status quo. I don't really want to have to think about all of this when I'm moving away in exactly a week. Plus (and this is definitely selfish), I was sort of hoping to come out to her before heading off, and the timing seems bad now... Well, I guess this way I can mooch off her money for a little while longer.
