(no subject)
Still thinking about Doctor Who. Man, last episode was magical. I think it might have made my week already.
There've been a few recurring things in previous episodes that people around fandom have noticed, so in case they're Important Later, I'm going to note down a few.
- Mobiles, or other hanging sparkly things on strings. There's one in the little girl's bedroom in 6x02, covered with stars and planet shapes IIRC - I thought on first viewing it had something to do with her being the astronaut. 6x03, there's a windchimey thing on deck which is present in a few scenes but never paid any attention. 6x04, there's something similar near where the TARDIS lands, which Rory and I think Amy examine (can it be fourth rewatch time yet?) before Idris shows up; obviously they have more pressing things to worry about afterwards.
- The Doctor claiming to be nice when his apparent niceness is all part of a not-nice plan. It's hardly a trend, actually - 6x02 and 6x04, which could just be a coincidence - but it's interesting, isn't it? Well, I'm a Seven fan.
- The Doctor trying to figure out a situation and getting it wrong. Again, only twice so far (most of 6x03 plus his being tricked in 6x04)... in this series, anyway. Remember what led up to the S5 finale? If it's really going to turn into a trend, the possibilities are intriguing!
- Rory reminding people who really should already know that he is a nurse, with more or less those exact words (6x02, 6x03 and 6x04). Will it be significant? Maybe it already has been. The only water in the forest is the river...
- Rory dying. Shut up shut up, it's not going to happen for real.
On top of the obvious ongoing hooks. I can't believe this half of the series is over soon! D:
