It's half-term, hooray! It couldn't come soon enough. I've been feeling the fatigue for the past week. What did I do to take my mind off it? Pokémon! And there's still two weeks to BW. :D I want a Bachuru, or whatever it's called now. I even want two, one to evolve and and one to look fluffy.

Notably, I completed the National Pokédex on Diamond! Well, sort of - 486 caught, which equates to all of the non-event pokes plus the Jirachi and Phione I got from my cousin when she visited last summer. The last one to fall was Vespiquen, which happened at 777 hours and something like 10 minutes. I didn't know that the Pokémon Centre nurse message also changes when you complete it, though! That was a cute surprise.

I told a friend about it at school the next day. He said "Hooray!", then after a couple of seconds said "Oh dear. Do you have wifi?" I told him no, and he said "Oh dear." He might have been taken aback by how awesome I am.

On top of that, I started a handul of monotype "challenges": Poison on FR, Psychic on LG and Water on Pearl. They're more fun than aimless replays, OK? Thinking about whether or not to try a Dark-type run on Sapphire next, since that actually looks difficult, but I should probably try to finish one of the others first.

And a little while ago, when I must have been incredibly bored, I sat down to work out the maximum number of ribbons you can have on a single Pokémon with an obscene amount of time but no wifi or events. It's 65. Basically:

- Pick a non-uber Shadow Pokémon that starts out below L50. Sadly, my favouritest of all time is ineligible, because Colosseum's Tyranitar is L55 and XD's Larvitar isn't Shadow. Purify it [1] and trade it to a GBA game.
- Max out its condition using absurd numbers of pinch berries and beat all of the Hoenn Contests with it [21], with at least one portrait [22].
- Max out its EVs for an Effort Ribbon [23] and level up to exactly L50, then win 56 times in the L50 Battle Tower [24]. After that, grind up to L60 or above and win 56 times in the Open Level Battle Tower [25]. The Hoenn Elite Four are probably piss-easy by this point [26].
- Trade it to XD along with five other pokes from a GBA game and climb Mt. Battle in one go [27]. I think that's all for Gen III.
- Beat Red in HGSS [28], the only ribbon that you can't also get in DPPt.
- In Sinnoh, get all of the possible ribbons from the Battle Tower, including both of Palmer's appearances and excluding wifi mode [33]. One of the Multi Battle ribbons requires two DSes. For a change of pace, flatten the Elite Four here too [34].
- Win all of the Sinnoh Contests [54]. Get the weekday ribbons [61] and Ribbon Syndicate money-sinks [64] while you're at it. Finally, max out its happiness for Dr. Footstep [65].

Someone in the fandom probably did it years ago, but wouldn't it be cool to have done it yourself? Cool or soul-crushing, same difference.

Outside of Pokémon, there's not much to report. I got and beat Golden Sun: Dark Dawn without having much to say about it. Mostly it made me want another sequel.
