It's my birthday! ♥

Happy 25th of May, people who are fans of Terry Pratchett and/or Douglas Adams! And happy 25th of May to, err, me. "Sweet seventeenth" doesn't roll off the tongue nearly as well as "sixteenth", so correspondingly this year I'm suffering much worse exam stress and less inclined to enjoy it. At least half term is coming up.

Haul this year:
  • Four tickets, two for each of They Might Be Giants' shows when they finally show up in London. I've squeed about it at length and don't really need to squee more, but I will: OMG guys! OMG!
  • A number of automated emails from forums I forgot I had accounts for; this is as much a birthday tradition for me as presents.
  • About £600 from my grandad, who was the last person in our family to attend university (he used to teach engineering) and apparently very impressed by me getting into the UNIQ Oxford summer school, even after I told the mother to tell him it wasn't related to the university proper. Which is only one more person to disappoint if I crash and burn on these upcoming papers, I suppose. I'd like to spend it on all of the Pokémon games I haven't been playing, but it's probably most judicious to leave that until at least July, or I'll never scrape an A in Physics.
  • Cards! The one I got from Beth had a cat wearing a party hat on it that she'd drawn. She told me that it was only a cat in a hat and not symbolic of anything, so we spent the rest of break analysing how it represented the ubiquitous corporate presence in contemporary Western society.
  • Revision. I've got two exams on Thursday. Statistics should be all right, but I'm still fretting about English Language - the last past paper I tried came back with a middling B. Conciseness is key, it seems.
  • The promise of cake, not tomorrow because Catherine ran out of ingredients, and not the day after or the day after that, but possibly some time after half-term. TMBG and cake, that's incentive for me to survive the exam season.
