Oh right, so I was going to start posting again after NaNo ended. Um.
My excuse is that school has been a little bit overwhelming. I admit, at the start of the year when all of the teachers and random people they brought in to do workshops were going on about A-levels being omg!different and so much tougher than GCSE, I didn't believe them, because they'd all said the same things about GCSEs after Year 9 and I friggin' cruised through GCSEs, as did a fair few other people I know. I have since discovered that I was wrong. :( It starts off just as pedestrian, but suddenly you find it's already 2010 and you're drowning in coursework, revision books, past papers, more coursework, and not least of all high school drama.
Of the three exams coming up this January, I am confident about one-and-a-half of them. The half is the half of the Physics paper that is about particles and not about electricity. The electricity module has become like what History was for me last year, except in History I had a little bit of leeway to ramble about ancillary things and pick up sympathy points, whereas in Physics they deduct for that. I've made it my mission to (in the future, obviously) date somebody who is both knowledgeable about electricity and good at cooking so that my comfort in life is assured, because actually getting my head around this stuff? Not going to happen.
NaNo died somewhere around the three-week mark, by the way. I was disappointed because I'd been planning to put it on my UCAS later in the year - in lieu of jobs or volunteer work, you know, it's something - but if it comes to that I guess I'll have better luck in July, since all of my courses are done with by the middle of June.
At least it's winter break, though! And it's been snowing! Around these parts, the snow is terribly unenthusiastic, and I don't think that's really fair, but it's snow! It was a refreshing change to wake up this morning and see a sheet of white outside the window instead of the usual grey.
Anyway, hello world!
