(no subject)
Guess what I have? A microphone!
It's another early birthday present. I've wanted one for some time, so naturally now that I have one I've completely forgotten what I was going to do with it in the first place. I did record myself singing for about five minutes yesterday - I didn't know my cold was that obvious, nor how high-pitched everyone else must find me - and then I stopped, feeling self-conscious and embarrassed. I'd make a voice post or something, but I really don't have a lot to say. You could probably deduce this from the fact that I'm posting about getting a microphone.
Anyway, I got another tag for the meme I did last post, so here it is.

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Before I was old enough to read videogame-related magazines, let alone be trusted with a computer, I found a copy of the first game in the local store and thought the back of the box looked interesting. That's it.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I'm also not really in this fandom. The only fic I've ever attempted is probably going to remain in its planning stages for a long while. I like the games, though - they probably wouldn't qualify as classics or anything, but they're solid fun for a certain kind of person, of which I am one.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Har har. Well, to be honest, it's difficult to say which one is better since for all intents and purposes they are the same game... I was annoyed with The Lost Age at the beginning because they changed the sound effect which plays when you set a Djinni from the out-of-battle menu, but that's really the biggest difference.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Nooo. (I'll finish writing it later! ._.;;)
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Yeah, why not?

FINAL FANTASY IX
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Well, I got into other Final Fantasy games first. ;D The first one I played was VII, but I didn't really get it (my gaming experience up till that point had been almost entirely Mario and Pokémon), and after several minutes of doing nothing I threw the game away. I got IX for Christmas several years later, after having played through I through VI and fallen in love with all but one of them.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
How many permutations of "I'm not properly in this fandom" can I type before it starts boring even me? I don't think I'll ever stop loving the game, though. If I were to draw up a list of my favourite games based on how much I like them instead of how good I think they are, it would definitely be in the top five.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
:3 I could probably say that Disc 3 is my favourite disc, though. You start getting the flashier equipment and moves needed to really kick random encounter ass (Thievery! ♥), and you have an airship with nice music, unlike the later one.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Fanfic or graphics, no. But I did hang around the GameFAQs board - please don't judge me :( - and, although I wasn't really a regular, I posted enough that I didn't have a post limit per day (do they still have that?). And I started writing a walkthrough for it, but I didn't get further than the middle of Disc 3. Most of what I had is still on my computer; it's not as well-written as it could be, but I think it was going all right. Maybe I'll finish it and submit it one day.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
It's a Final Fantasy game! It has more than enough fans already. Although, yeah, more people wouldn't hurt if they would stop it being so overshadowed by VII.

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
RPing with a couple of characters from the series convinced me to check out the source material some time, but they were a little impossible to find at home. When we went on holiday to Tokyo, I saw the first three in a shop in Akihabara for cheap (compared to England, anyway...) and walked away a happy skarme. ♥ I bought an artbook at the same time, too.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I think I have kind of moved on; I had several LJ comms friended at one point, reading discussions and stealing icons and so on, but I've stopped watching them now.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
I like Trials and Tribulations! ♥ Cases 4 and 5 of the first game are also epic enough to merit a mention. I haven't played Apollo Justice, though.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not really. I used to RP Nick and I think I was OK at that, but I don't think I'd be able to pick him up again.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
It's pretty big already, isn't it?
