(no subject)
well.
with all this mouse attention, poor beejay is being neglected.
although i tend to feed taz first (so i can be there if he inhales his food & chokes!), i have to make sure i ride beejay before everyone else. not so much to prevent jealousy (he knows he's my #1) but because he is so fucking easy to ride - if i ride mouse first i'm frigging exhausted after & tend to just plunk around on beej & do nothing productive.
also, beejay HATES mouse. which is VERY interesting. they're paddocked next to each other & he usually likes to go up to her fence & have a chat. recently i have noticed him making faces at her & the other day he bared teeth. yesterday, he LUNGED at her over the gate as we walked passed along the lane. heh. i think that's jealousy. even tho i had ridden him first & he'd got lots of juani-time. poor guy.
i've had several very very pleasurable rides on him lately. very low, very quiet, very compliant. i rode him on saturday after ARC & i had to pick up a dressage whip cos he was soooo laidback. yesterday something in the bushes gave him a fright so he was a little more foreward. i seriously need some lessons tho cos we're just pottering around. i know there's things to work on & i know what to do, but i'm better if someone's there telling me what to do. it's been ages since a lesson with carly, but she's had a lot of stuff going on with her life lately, plus i've been MEGA broke. fortunately that's not so full on now that i've leased Taz & am working Mouse (in exchange for agistment). hopefully we can get back to it.
beejay was funny on saturday. i'd just got off my phone to jed & chucked it on the tray of my ute (on beejay's rug actually). he was tied to my ute (omfg i'm a redneck! kill me now! report me to fugly! omg!) & fidgeting around with stuff in the back.
you see where this is going?
naturally, he found my phone & i could HEAR he was up to no good cos there was practically this *squee* of glee from him that he'd found something new & exciting to play with. i turned around really fast & he KNEW he was in trouble and he tossed his head up (with my phone IN HIS MOUTH) and i basically lunged at him. fortunately he hadn't truly tested the phone's strength & was still in the "OMG I HAVE SOMETHING HERE PEOPLE!" stage so dropped it (covered in goop) onto the ground.
what was even funnier is that yesterday i was explaining this to karen & whilst i was talking, he grabbed hold of the peak of my helmet (which was on a chair) and picked it up! then he wouldn't let go, he thought that was very entertaining.
heh... jealous antics?
oh, he's getting his teeth done on wednesday. different vet as Martin is on holiday. hopefully Derek is good.
another public holiday today. fortunately my gym is open so i can get there. it's been closed most of easter.
i love the Easter holiday tho. besides the religious meaning of the holiday, i love how there's very little commericial SHIT that goes with it. and you're not forced to visit family & have huge meals or what have you, it's just time for yourself, reflection, whatever. my mum used to be very superstitious & would not let me ride or anything on Good Friday.
