show prep tips
1. buy some clear shine
2. use chux cloths
3. slim body brush for sharks teeth
4. buy some Absorbshine (or similar shiney stuff)
5. when braiding tail, add only to the center strand & keep the 3 strands going. (this is funny as i have always braided tails like braiding hair - adding to both outside strands)
6. raven's oil on legs BUT beejay doesn't really need it as he's chestnut and it is VERY EASY TO FUCK UP unless you're doing it on a horse with black points
7. Chalk for face. shave whiskers, rub black chalk & then blend over with the clear shine & a DRY chux. with the eyes, follow the cheekbone down & go around the eye to form a kind of upside down tear drop/triangle.
8. for serious inhand showing (which i may do with tazzie if i can be fucked) you need to bone or at least closely shave the ears & shave whiskers & jowls.
9. pick off scabby chestnuts then rub with sandpaper to smooth off. colour it with raven's oil, NOT hoofblack.
10. DO NOT USE BABY OIL becaUse it will BURN in hot weather.
11. go over stars etc with white chalk. even with tazzie could make a FAKE star. omg. but i think he has quite an expressive, pretty face, so a star isn't really necessary.
12. wash all this shit off with shampoo when you get home.
13. horse rubbing mane out? spray with absorbshine
