Man, it's been ages and ages since i've done a real update. i don't think i even updated about my 2nd lesson with carly or anything. god.
i am meant to be marking kids english books today. have got a SERIOUSLY busy month ahead, which is just NOT GOING TO BE FUN AT ALL. i am so not impressed. i hate being busy. i know some ppl thrive on busy-ness. i am NOT one of them. i like to do things slowly. It's like the "friends" episode where Ross is recently 'on sabbatical' and he does a whole list of things in one day & is going stir crazy & Joey has to teach him how to be unemployed because that list of things SHOULD take at least a week to do.
i'm joey. one task per day, thanks.
and to finish it off, my birthday (and my MIL's, haha) is on the 31st. school reports will be due then AND we have a rent inspection around that time as well. GODDAMNIT.
all i wanna do is teach, and ride my pony. but there's all this other shit in there too. i even dreamed last night about giving a presentation to an enormous crowd. my boss had led me to believe it was a small intimate thing, but NOOOO. i didn't even have any prepared notes! and ppl kept getting in my way. it was very frustrating. one good thing was having this rather marvellous pair of sparkly silver boots on tho. i wonder what they represent.
i picked up the abandoned cat last week. WELL. he is still nameless AND he is a porkchop. jed has suggested:
Mustafa
Stefan
i like:
Steve
tho we've been just calling him, "little man."
BOY is he a troublemaker. He's definitely got both of our older cat's numbers, that's for sure. Pilchard, the world's crusiest, most laidback cat,
has resorted to HIDING UNDER THE BED. omg. she has never done that, and this cat has faced off a barking staffordshire pitbull (that i dog-sat once) and 8 or so crazy chihuahua's. she is not phased by anything. EXCEPT this 'little man' of ours.
and jai, the resident neurotic, has adjusted much better than anticipated. we KNEW he'd be spending time under the bed, but he's actually started hanging out (in a sort of "i'll KEEEEL you if you get in my way, minion" way) with the "little man", who looks exactly like him except half the size with a white beard.
jai.
Little Man has been kept in my study & allowed out slowly over the course of the week. straightaway he came out fighting. they're starting to settle now tho. pilch is still unhappy but she's dealing with it.
LM differs to our other two because he's definitely a lap cat & he's a super loud purrer. he likes to snuggle & get in ur face, whereas both pilchard & jai tend to do their own thing & only hang out on their terms. LM is happy to be picked up, smooched & then settles down for a snooze on ur lap in front of the telly. it's quite nice, actually!
anyways. i'll do a separate entry for a beejalicious update.
