Other Uses

...

well, today i found another use for my carrot stick besides scritching my horse's ears and picking things up with it (oh, and i suppose i DO occassionally use it for what it's meant for - just ask my horse!)...

HOLDING A BABY SNAKE STILL whilst i maneuvred a bucket over it to catch it!

this is what the snake looked like: http://members.iinet.net.au/~bush/dug-juv.html

initially the bucket only trapped half the snake so it attacked it. snake was less than the width of my pinky finger, but o man, the intrinsic fear sent my adrenaline hammering.

carrot stick swiftly trapped the snake whilst i could scoot it under the rest of the bucket. friend came back with orders to STAND ON THE BUCKET and thus chop snake in half, but i had already scooted the snake.

snake stayed under bucket until paul arrived to dispatch (kill) it. i made it very clear to everyone that i do not agree with the killing of native australian wildlife & that i would rather not be in the vicinity.

paul looks under bucket and the little bastard had fled.

i kinda felt relieved.

but at the same time - OOOOO FUCK. snakes! OMG, HALP!

and i was initially going to post a variation of this in equestrian but i suppose it's 'fluff' and not of the high calibre that apparently belongs in that community. and to be honest, i think that sucks ass.

wild animals, snark, parelli
