just quickly...

katy came out today with her wonderful husband Keith. had a great time. i was a bit lazy and my horse TOTALLY pushed me around, ugh! i feel a bit out of sorts being 'watched'. katy gave me some tips for Sideways game (which we are utterly useless at) and set up some obstacles for squeeze game (over fences). she suggested that beej seems ready for the next level & for us to work on mazes & other sorts of obstacles to challenge his brain (true). she also said that we seem to be working thru Level 1 quite well - i'd wondered about that. considering i don't do the levels at all, i hadn't thought if we were ok at level 1... idk, i thought you had to be a bit... MORE or something?

i was pretty flat today and i didn't really challenge him - he was very responsive for driving, porcupine, circling & yoyo, but very flat and lethargic for sideways and kept going past my shoulder during squeeze game, so i'll have to practice that...

however, i am so stoked with my horse. we worked in the round yard, then the arena, then the OMFG scary end of the arena and he handled it all without a fuss. sooo good.

did get some video which i may dump tomorrow but doubt it. lots of work shit to do.

oh, and it's NOT hot.

also, had a ride on friday night and it was soo good. my legs are sore today. Kelli was very tactful and said i looked 'off balance' to which i LAUGHED because NO FUCKING SHIT~!@@!! haha. i feel like i can't fucking ride at all! considering i haven't basically ridden for a year (on&off), i think that's acceptable. i am very unbalanced & have NO idea where my centre of gravity is. a bit of instruction wouldn't go astray AT ALL... but i am dead broke atm and will be for a while (until i get my shit together!).

beej was SUPER tho. we walked, trotted & cantered, both ways. popped over a couple of ground poles. went around the WHOLE arena, including the OMFG scary end. he had a minor shy, but was quick to recover. he did come to a complete stop halfway over a trotting pole and OGGLED a bolting horse (complete with saddle & bridle) from next door... dunno if someone fell off, but i presume that's the case. the horse was caught shortly afterwards.

a girl off stockyards has moved her horse to the next agistment centre, which is fucking cool... i'd love to catch up with her - she has a SUPER impressive horse; anglo arab. she's an old friend of kelli & petra's too.

anyways. jed has been asleep all night. think it's about my turn.

stockyards, friends, riding, beejay, parelli
