Holidays and a great start to 2009

I am really liking this new year so far. Yay! I went home for a short Christmas holiday. I took the bus to Chicago and I was lucky because my uncle Chuck was on his way with his wife Marie and they picked me up. We also picked up my great-aunt "Honni" (Honnilore) I was pretty sick with bronchitis (and didn't realize it) so I slept on the trip.

We had Christmas Eve at my mom's mom's place. We had shrimps and all kinds of goodies! On Christmas Day, my dad took me to urgent care in Lafayette. The clinic was my HMO for many years but I hadn't been there since I was in high school. What a strange place to be while I was home! They accepted my insurance information, fortunately, and let me see a doctor. He spent all of a minute with me and prescribed me some happy drugs for the infection. Honestly, I didn't want to be there any longer so I'm not complaining about the short visit. Poor guy, working on a holiday. The clinic uses my company's software, which is incredibly ironic. Everyone in my family has a record in Epic!

Christmas Day dinner was with my mom's family - grandma, aunt Honni, uncle Chuck and Marie, and the Mason's. The next day, we had second dinner at grandma Mason's and I saw my aunt and uncles on that side of the family. They are the more "interesting" side to be sure. But it was nice to see grandma Mason!

I also got to spend decent time with my brother while I was home, which was great. We hung out at the bookstore and it was surprisingly fun with him. My sister was also around except for playing WoW sometimes.

Made it back exhausted on the 28th. I also had a nice New Year's with some friends and Heidi. We have pictures. Dot dot dot.
