Homestuck is about these four kids who start up a game of 'Sburb', and by doing so accidentally bring down the apocalypse. The game may be an induced life or death cycle for the planet involved, or it may not. There is plenty of time travel and the plot is riddled with enough Chekhov's Guns to make an Armoury, and every one of them gets fired at some point because Andrew Hussie Thinks Of Everything.

ABOUT THE FELT:
I really, really want to play with the fact that they're also a murderous gang. Nobody seems to take them seriously, but it's probably because in the face of the Midnight Crew they aren't exactly efficient, or could be but are kind of murdered violently before they have a chance to show any potential.
Also I'm pretty sure Clover's 'hee hee' thing is more of the 'I'm a sadistic little bastard who enjoys YOUR PAIN~! TEE HEE!' than anything remotely innocent. B/ And I'd like to give them characterisation that isn't based on shipping.
Die, for example, could just be horrendously morbid as well as having possibly the worst sense of humour ever. He probably pulls the whole 'WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE OBVIOUSLY' thing on a regular basis and 'kills' people out of losing card games so I'm fairly sure that means he's a bit petty on that regard. And a bad loser. Such a bad loser. Seriously he's probably a mix of Cyclonus and Starscream, or something. The former's subtlety and morbidity, and the latter's BITCH ABOUT/DO SOMETHING ABOUT PETTY LITTLE THINGS THAT DON'T EVEN MATTER.

ABOUT SNOWMAN/BLACK QUEEN AND SPADES SLICK/JACK NOIR:
I honestly don't think it's a battle of 'order vs chaos' or anything near as clear-cut. That belongs to the battle of Derse vs Prospit, White vs Black. That's the clear cut part. However, when it comes to the relationships between the Black Queen and Jack Noir, just because Jack says she's a HUGE BITCH BLUH BLUH doesn't mean she's a huge bitch. But. There's actual evidence that she does fuck with him just to make him squirm/uncomfortable/RAEG. So they are huge assholes to each other, at least, and while saying JACK GOOD QUEEN BAD is dumb, so is the other way around.
And I have a feeling the Queen does run the country - the political side. Jack does all the paperwork, and while he's not /HARDWORKING even though he could be he's not lazy - it's just his form of saying 'FUCK YOU B(' and making her come down there to tell him to get back to work. He probably just lols a bit and indulges her. THEY ARE BOTH VERY PETTY BASTARDS OKAY and they just like to prod at each other because they're both assholes.
