The first battle: VS Maya

Oh, God. The influx of assignments being due has given me the inability to do anything but assignments, and assignments, and more assignments. Seriously, man. So many assignments, how the hell are we supposed to be able to finish them? I don't even have time to do anything else!

Been staying at school both two days ago and yesterday until 9pm to complete my Maya. Two days ago, I had spent the whole day in school because I had problems animating my camera. Yesterday, I spent the whole day rendering my stupid 850 frames animation (which somehow became only 28 seconds even though I double-checked and triple-checked that the animation plays at 25 frames per second. What the fish?) four whole freaking times. Oh yes, I had to render it four fucking times.

Seriously, I had no fucking idea why rendering on Maya would be such a pain in the ass. The first time I rendered, I thought that the environment of my animation (which was high-rise buildings, inspired from the location of the Choice battle in Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) was set in India or Bangladesh or something. Not to be racist, but what the heck, why did my environment turn out all black and shit? And I spent one whole hour waiting for the render to be completed (hanging out with the C203 next lab while waiting for it)!

So I went over to Aaron's computer (because some smartass thought it was cool to hijack someone's computer while he is rendering his Maya animation and away from keyboard because he has no patience to stare at the status bar telling him of the progress of his rendering =3=), and thinking that it was a problem with the computer (I thought that maybe it was because I didn't add lighting too, but I didn't add lighting for my previous assignment, and thanks to the default lighting, it turned out rather good, so I thought I could count on the default lighting again), I tried rendering again on Aaron's computer. Then I went over to where C203 is and watched Ricky play a Flash version, kind of like an emulator or something, of that Taiko drum game.

Went back after an hour, checked my rendered video, and sigh... Still a scene of Bangladesh. It was already 4pm then. "Oh God, Maya is such a bloody waste of time.", I thought, and forced Kenny to come to me and help me get some lightings up. Then I went over, and played Rabbits vs Sheep against Ricky. I pwned him straight in all three rounds, so Chee Yong took over, and I still pwned him. :D After an hour and a half (rendering becomes a lot slower the moment you add lights in), I went back, checked my rendered video, and for some reason I can't remember now, it still won't work.

So I got Kenny here, asked him to help me check for configurations, settings and stuff. Generally, find out what the fucking hell is wrong with that shit. After Kenny got it to start rendering, I took Jin Yao with me and went over to the other lab where the C203 people are, challenging Chee Yong and Ricky to a 2-on-2 Battleship game. The two of us were pwning at the start - the two of us were always playing with each other on the same team, while on the other side, this was Ricky's first time playing.

However, it all changed when Ricky had to go. Chee Yong ragequit, took over Ricky's computer, and started owning the fuck out of us two-on-one. I'm being serious, LOL! The two of us couldn't even kill him once after Ricky left for his lesson. Which was like, purely, WTF, by the way. We lost and went back to our own lab. Jin Yao even wanted to get Fuyuan and Shi Hui to go back for revenge, haha. What the fuck, four-on-one? :P Of course not lah!

Fourth time rendering my stupid Maya animation, and it finally worked. I still remember my sense of accomplishment at that time, after finish previewing my finished video and making sure there weren't any errors. I jumped up, punched the air and shouted, "YES!" so loudly the whole lab turned around to look at me. Hahaha. :D

But I still had to go to school today, to convert my video into .mov, to do my IN3D journal, and to burn it to a disc. I went to school early at 9.30am, because Renga and William asked me to help them, so might as well. Finished the whole thing and managed to submit it at 4.30pm, half an hour before submission deadline. Phew. That's one battle down. ^^"

But what was really humorous and definitely the highlight of the day was at the end, when everyone was going to submit. The locker which we had to put our submission in, had to also contain two other classes (three classes in total), while on the other hand, the other two lockers only contain two classes. So Khai Ming and Ghost, who were the last to find that their submission couldn't fit inside, took some time squeezing them in. Later came Ricky, and much later Boris, and it was really funny watching them trying to squeeze their submission in one after another. XD In the end, they all gave up and put it inside a locker for another class. XD

K, enjoy the pictures.

Ricky also brought his hard disk to school so he could send me Final Fantasy IX, but because we had to go and submit, he forgot about his hard disk after the transfer was done and lost his hard disk. D: God damn it, I felt so guilty about it, since I was the reason he brought it here today and subsequently got it lost. >_<

school, friends
