Mortgaged and I had tickets to the Freeway Series game on Saturday. It was a really great close game that ended with an Angels victory, cinched by an amazing grand slam homerun by Kendry Morales. For Mortgaged and I, it doesn’t get much better than that. I grew up going to Dodger games, so it was really weird for me to be cheering in Dodger Stadium at the points when the majority of the fans were booing, loudly. But I really enjoyed participating in the mostly good natured schmack talking back and forth in our section of the stands, so it was a fun crowd. Mortgaged and I capped off the evening with an early dinner at the York on York - mmmmm, Cuban sandwiches - and called it good.
Between the work, the fun, and the stress induced staying up waaaaaaay too late, Mortgaged and I have not been doing much in the way of sleeping. So after our early dinner on Saturday, we decided to take a nap, which quickly turned into to sleeping straight on through to 7 this morning. So, 12 hours later, we were finally, almost rested. Wow, I can’t even remember the last time I slept so long, but damn did I need it.
Mortgaged had to go into the office today and I had a few business things of my own to do, so today was mostly a chores day, punctuated by a fun baseball game on TV and, of course, the earthquake, which was apparently large, but did not feel like much from here. I love a great game, and I love watching the Yankees lose on general principal, so this evening was truly a good one for baseball. Yes, that’s right. Opening day was today for a few teams and will be tomorrow or later this week for almost everyone else, so the “boring” baseball posts have begun. Consider yourselves warned ;).
I do not like to borrow trouble - and yet I do in spades as you all know, sigh - but I fear this week is going to be a bit rough. Fortunately I only have three days left at the old grind, then I get a nice 4-day weekend before I start the new job. I hope I am wrong about the next three days being rough but, if I am not, at least by C.o.W. it will all be over. Yay!!
earthquake,
updates,
take me out to the ballgame,
