Well, four business days that is. And let me just tell you, I have the worst senioritis ever. The last thing in the world I want to be doing is QC-ing those campaigns, but it's only for four more business days. So a proofreading I will go. And I have prevented a few real doozies from mailing so the senioritis isn't hindering me too much.
What I would actually like to be doing is documenting all of my processes so as not to leave everyone high and dry when I am gone but so far that has fallen by the way side. when I gave notice, I met with my bosses and we outlined a transition plan wherein I would finish all of the month end accounting processes and reports they had not yet even given me a chance to start on and document all of my processes that I have never been allowed time to document.
At that time I told them, sure thing. This will require three days of uninterrupted non-proofreading time to accomplish. Since then I have been given exactly two hours and 45 minutes of uninterrupted time. I have four days left. I have to be a proofreading machine on the last day becuase one of my counterparts in undergoing knee surgery. You do the math. This isn't going to happen now, is it? I actually gave myself a migraine Friday night over stress from this. I have never left anyone is such a bad position before in my life and they are not letting me do anything about it by requiring me to spend so much time proofreading and nothing else.
On Saturday, shaky and recovering from pain, I decided to let it all go. As of Thursday next week, they are on their own without me. I will do everything in my power to make sure they have the information they need in order to keep all of my duties going but if they do not give me time to do so, then the end result is hardly my fault. And I promise that once I walk out the door on my last day, I will not give it a second thought.
