Last weekend was one of the nicest I have enjoyed in a long time. The weekend began early, Friday afternoon because my boss is wonderful and let me work from home and then leave early.
Of course, we didn't quite leave as early as planned because we are ourselves and work always takes longer than planned. Still, we made it to Stone just in time for the tasting portion of the tour, excellent timing really.
The rehearsal dinner was fun, the wedding was beautiful, and all the time before, after, and in between was the stuff of lovely memories. Mortgaged and I enjoyed time with friends we haven't seen in forever, friends we never are able to see often enough, and those we see all the time. It was better than any college reunion, as several folks observed independently of one another. But I have documented all of
those fun, silly parts already, or at least as well as the quantity of wine I consumed will allow me to ;).
As great as all of the camaraderie was, and it was damn near legendary, the best part of the entire weekend was watching two of my best friends who are perfect for one another take such an important step in their relationship. Digital_rider and Bouchezmoi were glowingly, giddily, happy as they exchanged their vows and that is how it should be.
There is not a doubt in my mind that they will continue to make one another very happy and I wish them all the best in that pursuit. It was truly an honor for Mortgaged and I to be able to assist them in their festivities, even if only in small ways.
