HEAT!!
It. Is. Hot.
This is the hottest day on record in Toronto!! And of course it seemed like a great day to take the kids to the CBC Kids Day since most of it is indoors. However, just getting there and walking from the car was nasty. We had a great time there, where the kids got to have their picture with some of the characters, and do lots of activities, as well as see the Doodlebops live. Chris even popped down to meet us for a few minutes since his office is just a few minutes away. He actually surprised us. I had planned to take the kids to get hotdogs for lunch from a street vendor, but it was so miserable outside I changed the plans and decided we'd go to Mc Donald's instead. So we baked all the way back to the car, which was parked in a really expensive lot today--apparently there was a baseball game so they jacked all of the lots in the area!! I paid $20 for parking when I think I paid $5 last year when we came. The lot closer was charging $30!!
Now the kids are playing on the computer and I'm just collapsed in the air conditioning. I don't want to go anywhere else today. Not even for our nightly excursion to the pool. I feel so sorry for people that don't have air conditioning today, or at least have a basement or cool place to go. And especially for older people that are having a hard time with the heat. Thank goodness my mom is on her way to Nova Scotia in her air conditioned car or I'd be worried about her in the heat!
