Nerissa hissed softly as Nat lifted the snake from his neck. He smirked as the woman began to shake. She had always had a fear of snakes. As he draped his beloved pet over her shoulders, his hand brushed against her racing pulse. They both knew that Nerissa was venomous. In her panic and stupidity, she began to jerk her shoulders, hoping to dislodge the snake. Idiot. Nerissa became aggitated and delivered a quick bite to her throat. Seeing this, Nat returned to his seat after placing the antidote only inches out of her reach. The woman was restrained. She would never touch her only cure.
As Nat unfolded a newspaper, the woman made her strangled plea.
"Nathair, you c-can't do this!"
Not even bothering to lower the newspaper, Nat effectively ended their conversation.
"Why not? After all, this is exactly what you did all of those times when Father beat the shit out of me. ... I think it's only fair."
