Phil is just watching him patiently. Clint’s shoulders sag. “You don’t believe me. Is it because I’m a huge fuckup? Because I am, but that’s sort of my superpower.” “You shot me with a boomerang arrow,” Phil reminds. “I believe that you’re Hawkeye.” “Because I accidentally shot you?” What the hell kind of rep does he have, exactly? He thinks about getting upset about that.

  Clint had tried to figure out who The Voice was, even if he didn’t have the guts to ask The Voice directly. To make matters worse, the comms still glitched with the hearing aides R&D had made him. It was nothing serious, but it distorted voices over the comm. Enough so that Clint wasn’t sure he’d recognize The Voice if he heard it in person.
