I really enjoyed my visit with my aunt Linda today. About 5 months ago she had surgery on her back to correct her scoliosis (abnormal lateral curvature of the spine). She tried putting off the sugery to the point where her rib cage started to turn to the side and twist to the front, and it got so bad she couldnt walk....anyway, she went through with the procedure and she has 3 more months until she can go back to work. We ended up talking today for almost 3 hours. Throughout the summer I have been writing her letters back and forth, as I usually only get to see her and the rest of my dad's side of the family at Christmas time, so this was an excellent way to catch up (that and I got mail!). She has always been my "favorite aunt", and she was also the only one who still was friends with my mom after her and my dad got a divorce. My other aunts (3) are nice in their own ways, but I guess I just dont click with them on the same level as I do with Linda.
I also walked around downtown Dexter before my haircut, and went into some shops. I wound up buying a tiny puppet of a chipmunk...lord knows what I'm ever going to do with it, but it was too damn cute I suppose. I think it is going to become my "car pet" and will ride with me everywhere. I have properly named it Dale.
I had a Peanut Butter blizzard for lunch. God those are good. Not for a meal, but in general.
I must get to bed.
