It's an unspoken rule of female friendship that if one of your friends likes a guy, and has so for many months and you know this, that you do not drag them off into a dark corners and speak to them exclusively for 8 hours, making them buy you drinks and talk about you behind your back with them.

I know this is stupid, but this reminds me of when Cheryl and Simon started going out on Central and no-one had the courtesy to tell me. LOL now, but that hurt so bad at the time!

Agreed that this is an unspoken rule which should never be broken.

I agree, unspoken rule that should never be broken and if/when it is broken, the victim (yes I went there) has the choice, remain the awesomely nice person and suffer silently and snag an even better guy to piss the both of the off, OR open that 'book' of unspoken revenge tactics and smack down on her skank. Your choice, but really, you no be her friend no more she nasty.
