First up, thanks to everyone who came along last night for drinks - it was a great chance to get together and I hope y'all had a fun time! I sure did. Am feeling quite 'rooted' today though (to quote a workmate), as for the past week or so the arrival of my laptop and iPod and all the fun things to install and toggle around with have rendered me almost sleepless. Thunk Gawd it is holiday time. Not until this year have I ever appreciated the prospect of a holiday more!
So my birthday was quite a fun one - last day of work with presents everywhere, Chinese for lunch and a caramel cheesecake, then a 2-hour early mark! However, Rhys in his usual fashion managed to steal my thunder by putting his fist through our front glass door and cutting an artery in his palm, then receiving 6 stitches. That bastard! How dare he upstage me! Hehe :) We now have a spiffy new glass panel in our door though.
I think it's time for an amusing aside now. I'm currently importing my entire CD collection to iTunes (which is taking much, much longer than anticipated - I forgot how many CDs I have accumulated over the years), and according to iTunes, Jack Johnson's music fits into the genre of 'folk punk'. I'm not kidding - folk punk. Is that even a genre?! What tha? It gave me something to giggle about though.
Anyway. The original purpose of this post was to say Merry Christmas to everybody because it's highly likely I won't be seeing many of you before the overweight, bearded geriatric in the hot red suit comes slip-sliding down your chimneys bearing gifts and a cohort of reindeer. I know some of you are going through a very hard time at the moment; nevertheless, I hope that Christmas Day brings alot of happiness for each and every one of you, in whatever form that might take. And, may I add, remember the scientific fact that any food eaten over the duration of Christmas has absolutely no fat, sugar, calories, carbs, MSG, artificial colouring and the like. So eat all the trifle and turkey and cake and custard and jersey caramels and chocolates you like! (Haha...I can justify pretty much anything these days :P Pretty sure I use that excuse for Christmas, Easter, birthdays, weekends, weekdays...Oh dear.)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Make sure you ho-ho-ho it up! xoxo
