I've always wanted a camp, essentially a summer home, but usually with fewer amenities in a fairly rural, often forested and/or mountainous area. I still want one, but looking into homebuying has shown me it's going to be a long time before I could take the easy route of buying an existing camp with a structure, well, etc.
This morning the possibility came to me of just buying the land and working my way up to a full fledged camp. The first thing to do would be create a clearing and vehicle access and use that for tent camping. As time passes, add a well, platform for the tent, replace the tent with a camper, eventually build a cabin and so on.
I really like this idea. It seems more manageable to build a camp in chunks.
