so i FINALLY got to talk to my mom. she called me last night at quarter after midnight (my time.) i was kind of thrown aback to hear that ring (my parents have a diff ring on my phone) that late at night. she said they were ok, getting help and all. they finally got power back day before yesterday which is good. i imagine they were roasting ( Read more... )

Your parents had flood insurance, right? I'm glad your house is still somewhat standing.

thats the thing they didnt have flood insurance since our house is in a relatively "high" area. we arent sure how much actually flooded though. i think most of the damage was from when the roof collapsed in parts of the house and all the rain was basically going straight into the house. so we'll see what the regular insurance will pay for.

did you apply at express? its not a bad place to work although you get sucked into buying stuff b/c of the discount. i worked at the mall of milenia which is one of highest tier busiest store so it was always really busy not to mention that the loud music gets annoying especially early mornings when youre hungover.

If their roof collapsed and it rained in, they'll probably do pretty well with insurance.

I applied at one Express store on Saturday, and I plan to apply to another one sometime this week. Hopefully the first one will call me back. I'm also applying to Apple. Both places are going to be very tempting with discounts.

Express's music is generally pretty bad. I didn't think about that. I'll have to suck it up and deal with it.

yeah plan on hearing "mr. brightside" 5 times a day. my friend megan works at an apple in orlando. she said she likes it but that store isnt very big and theres always like a million people in there. yes, a million. :)
