i talked to my mom at about 10 cst this morning as my parents were about to leave. ive been calling my moms cell phone all night but i keep getting her voicemail. i know they evacuated but i just need to know that they made it somewhere and they are safe

Can your mom gets texts? I've had an easier time getting my mom through those than actually calling her cell. Don't know why.

I totally agree that it's torture watching. I can't seem to turn it off even though I don't want to watch it anymore.

I'm sure your parents are doing fine. I hope you can get them on the phone soon.

i sent her a couple of texts, but my mom is probably the least technology savvy person in the world so i dont think she knows how to check them.

my mom just called me at 8 am. they are in tuscaloosa. i'm glad your mom moved further inland because it looks like the worst will be in the next couple of hours now.

i spent the night on my living room couch in and out of sleep clutching the remote. it sucks that we dont even know the worst yet.
