whats up
christmas was great
i got:
from mom: wireless router for my apartment (returning, see why momentarily), new pajama pants, deer whistles for my car, and a coffee maker.
from grandma: 5 pounds of starbucks coffee.
from jordan: wireless router (keeping this one, because if i return mom's, i get more money back).
from megan: 24 Season 3 DVD set, Green Day's "Bullet in a Bible" live CD/DVD, new pajama pants, and a texas hold 'em poker set. she also made me a special dinner on friday night because we were all alone, and baked cookies for me.
from dad: $200 check. which i promptly spent on christmas presents and paying randy for utilities. not getting the impala, he wrecked it.
from the car wash: A RAISE (HOLY FUCKING SHIT, amount TBA), and 10 dollar gift cards for best buy and outback steakhouse.
receiving gifts to me isn't as big as giving them. i'm just not that materialistic (note, sold ipod and xbox). i enjoyed going shopping for everyone. i got mom a GVSU mom sweatshirt, a snowbaby (collectable figurine, that she collects), a paper shredder, and a new showerhead for her shower. i got dad a bunch of GVSU apparell too. and i got megan some stuff that she wanted, and some stuff that she didn't expect. i know i spent much more on gifts than the value of what i recieved, but that doesn't bother me. it's the spirit of the season and the sense of giving that's worth so much more to me.
tomorrow i'm taking the router back and probably picking up a new memory card for my digital camera.
tuesday i'm at a family christmas in eaton rapids (not getting anything else + annoying cousins = not cool, i better get drunk).
wednesday it's back to grand rapids for work. don't know when i will be home again.
