I went camping on Saturday and Sunday with James and his parents. I thought it was a lot of fun. We left at six and drove past Payson, to Woods Canyon Lake, which happened to be practically down the street from my cabin.
First we set up camp, and then headed off to go fishing. James' dad has a big canoe that we used part of the time. After about an hour or so it a big thunderstorm came in and the lightning was getting close, so we headed back to camp. We had lunch and the weather cleared, so we went back to the lake. We ended up fishing all day, until about 8 p.m. Too bad James and I both didn't even get a bite. Just a lot of craw dads eating all our worms and taking our hooks under rocks. But his parents each caught something so it wasn't too bad.
There were fire restrictions so our only light was a lantern. It sucked because that's one of the few good fun things about camping... campfires. Our tent was a POS but it kept us dry. I slept pretty well, but next time i will definitely bring more blankets because it was really cold.
Yes, that is an air mattress. The best idea ever.
I love fishing and I love nature. I could have fished for much longer even though we caught jack squat. I love the scenery and the fresh clean air. The moon was almost full so it lit up the forest light beautifully. There were chipmunks everywhere. So effin cute. There were no bears, but two weeks ago the campsite leaders' dog had to scare one away, which made James' mom paranoid as hell. I had never been camping before really, just in cabins (which can't be called camping I suppose). I want to go again since we have our own tent and everything now. Probably like once a month actually. I'm addicted. Who wants to come along?
James and I huddling togtether in the cold. We needed a fire!
