AN: Hey there, guys, I have another story. It's the first I wrote after three years of nothing, so please don't be too harsh. It's not that good, but it made me happy that I was able to finish this at least. Also, I love badass Jaejoong :D And sorry for the title, it's crap >.<

"See him, there he is," came the raw voice from above him.

Jaejoong didn't even look up. His eyes were fixed on a window on the second floor. A man was tickling a young boy who was laughing and shouting so loud, that even Jaejoong could hear him from outside. The boy's smile was so wide, it lit up his whole face. The man, Jaejoong knew it was the uncle of that boy, eventually swept the kid up into his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Wait a little," the voice sounded through the night.

Jaejoong watched on as the man lay the young boy down and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

"Time for bed it is."

"Quiet now!" Jaejoong hissed, still not turning his eyes away as the man turned off the lights and left the room.

Jaejoong's gaze followed the person as he walked from window to window until he eventually sat down on the couch in the living room to watch tv.

For ten minutes, no one moved.

Eventually, Jaejoong felt a touch on his left cheek. A wing, he knew. He turned around just as a black-winged kite stettled down on his shoulder. "The boy's asleep," it said.

"Alright," breathed Jaejoong before the bird jumped up in the air and left.

Jaejoong went out of his hiding place behind a tree and rushed across the street. No one was out there this late in a small town like this.

He climbed over the garden fence and walked around the corner of the house. He was directly in front of the living room. The man's back was turned towards him. The window was open, but Jaejoong was so quiet that the man hadn't heard him yet. For a split second, he thought about knocking on the window's glass.

"Don't!" The voice of the kite flying above him barely reached his ears.

The man was still unaware of his surroundings.

Jaejoong's eyes didn't leave the man as his hand went inside his jacket. He retrieved his gun, took aim and pressed the trigger. The silencer surpressed any sound and the man's head fell forward to his chest.

Jaejoong tried to lean through the window as far as possible until he was sure that the blood running down the couch and onto the floor was so much that the man couldn't possibly be alive anymore.

Without any other thought, he turned away and left, making sure no one was there to see him.

A few blocks away, he got onto his harley and drove off as quietly as he had come five hours earlier.

-----

Gwangju was quiet at two in the morning. At least this area was.

"Done," Jaejoong announced through his phone.

"Good. Where are you now? On your way back?"

"I'm staying in Daegu. I'm tired. I need to sleep."

"I hope for you that you honestly are in Daegu and not somewhere else, Kim," the gruff voice on the other end muttered.

"I'll be back by tomorrow evening. Don't worry, no one's gonna know about it."

"Alright. Bring in the report as soon as possible. I call when I have another job," his boss stated before he hung up.

Jaejoong put his phone back as he finally reached the his destination. He climbed over the small wall and strode through the graveyard.

The night was cold, the sun wasn't up yet.

Jaejoong stopped in front of a small gravestone. His face didn't show any emotion. Everything he felt was locked up inside where it was raging on and on at some days.

"Don't stay here," the black-winged kite said as it landed on the gravestone. "You shouldn't be here anymore."

Jaejoong didn't answer for a long time. The wind was blowing through his clothes and ruffled through the feathers of the bird in front of him. Eventually, he whispered his answer. "I know, but." He stopped, hesitated, then, "My heart is down there. How can I leave without it?"

"Jae, let's go," the kite said and flew towards the exit.

"I just miss him," Jaejoong whispered. With a sigh, he turned around and followed the kite, leaving behind the gravestone with the name of 'Jung Yunho'.

-----

Jaejoong slept on a bench nearby, located in a small dead alley on the outskirts, but as soon as the sun rose, he awoke and climbed back on his harley to return to Seoul.

It took him the whole days until he made it to his own apartment in a secluded area. Only he lived there. Sometimes, the black-winged kite came over. But that happened rarely. Jaejoong usually saw him when he was out on a mission.

The apartment was relatively empty of personal belongings. Beside a bit of furniture, there was nothing. No photos. No pictures on the walls. Nothing because nothing was interesting enough and worth keeping to Jaejoong.

He just opened the fridge, pulled out some soup to warm up and sat down in front of his laptop to start his report on his last kill.

-----

Two days passed with Jaejoong staying inside before he was ready to hand his work in. He was on his way to his boss' company when his old friend came by to accompany him.

"I hope no one found out where you've been the other night," the kite said while flying above him.

"No one knows."

"But what if you meet one of those guys? What if your boss consulted one?"

"Just shut up now," Jaejoong grumbled. An old lady was already staring at the kite flying so close to a human. Fortunately, the bird seemed to sense Jaejoong's nervousness and soared higher in the air.

They arrived at the big company which was known as an advicer to other companies with financial issues to the rest of the south-korean population.

The kite had been right though. 'What if's were swirling around in Jaejoong's head. He quickly strode towards the elevator and pressed the up button. It would lead him directly to his boss' office.

Jaejoong took a deep breath, trying to calm his heart. The door opened and he entered the final floor just as someone called his name. "Eh, Kim, come down to my office."

Jaejoong was inclined to keep on walking but he knew he couldn't. Instead he turned around in resignation. "I'm here for the boss."

"Afterwards then," Yoochun stated and walked away.

Jaejoong supressed a shiver as he knocked on his boss' door. Yoochun had more authority around himself as their boss and their boss already was someone to be feared.

"Come in," his boss' voice came through the door, so Jaejoong followed his order. "I've got your report from my last mission."

"Good. Put it on the desk there," his boss said with a nod towards his left.

Jaejoong did what he was told, but before he could leave the room, his boss spoke up again. "There's something else, Kim." Jaejoong froze, but didn't let his emotion's slip free. "Yoochun wants to see you as soon as possible."

"I heard. I'm heading there now," Jaejoong answered smoothly. He was an expert in swallowing his feelings.

"Then go."

With that, Jaejoong left. He arrived at Yoochun's office and was surprised to see the kite sitting on the frame of an open window in front of it. "So I heard. You know the drill. Chin up and steel your eyes."

Jaejoong followed the bird's instructions and was just about to knock when he heard his name. It was hushed and came from the other side of the door. "I can just tell you that Jaejoong was in Gwangju a few days ago. You know what that means."

They knew. If they knew that he was in that city, they also knew what he had done there. Jaejoong didn't even dare to breath as he waited for an answer, but no one gave one. Instead, the same voice, Jaejoong recognized it as Yoochun's, could be heard again. "How would I know? You probably should talk to Junsu then. Jaejoong is closer to him."

It was a phone call, Jaejoong guessed as he waited for Yoochun to continue. "He will be here any minute now. Just met with the boss, so I better hang up. Bye."

Jaejoong turned to stare at the kite which was currently picking in his feathers, trying to sort them out. "What now?" the man mouthed.

The kite looked up and turned his head slightly. His red eyes were shining in the sunlight. "Knock," he simply said.

Jaejoong closed his eyes briefly before obeying.

"Come in, Jae," said Yoochun without even seeing that Jaejoong was there. He couldn't know, right?

"So?" Jaejoong's eyes scanned the office, trying to find any indication that told him to whom Yoochun was talking to. He found nothing. Yoochun's mobile was lying screen-down on the desk. But Jaejoong found new courage when he saw the kite settling down on the window in the office, which was open as well.

"Your phone didn't give me the city you told us you were in three days three days ago. Do you remember where you were?" Yoochun asked with a stern gaze.

Jaejoong didn't reply, just staring back.

"Gwangju, it said. So either the GPS isn't working correctly, or you were lying," he said. "Do you think the GPS isn't working? Because I'm quite sure it worked fine when I tracked my own phone to test it that day. But if you were lying, which I have to mention is not the first time, there will be consequences. So what were you doing in Gwangju?"

Jaejoong knew he had to say something. "Nothing of your concern."

"I warn you, Jae, just leave it alone," Yoochun told him. His stern expression disappeared and was replaced by a sad one.

Jaejoong's heart sank. He looked out to the kite that sat there listening, but even it couldn't help him here.

"Come with me, Kim." Yoochun stood up and hushed the other one out. They went towards the elevator. Yoochun led him further down after that until they reached the basement. He unlocked a steel door and went inside. Jaejoong followed. He knew where he was. The room made him feel threatened. No windows. Only that one door. The walls were thick and made of iron.

Yoochun reached his hand out. "Your gun," he demanded.

Jaejoong pulled it out and handed it over without a word. Even in a fight without weapons, he was skilled enough to have the confidance to win anyway. But Yoochun just gave him a different gun. "Take this one. Here's some ammunition. There's something I need you to do."

"Okay," Jaejoong was more than taken aback, but his cool facade didn't show any signs of it.

"Sit," Yoochun said with a gesture towards a wooden chair. Jaejoong complied. "Here's an address." Yoochun handed him a small note. "And here's what I need you to find there." He handed him a photo this time. "It's the mansion of Shim Eunmi. It will be difficult to get in, but this mission is your top priority now. I expect you to leave for it immediately and be back in ten days."

"Understood," Jaejoong said with a clear voice as he planned the mission in his head already.

"If you have to, call me. Don't disturb the boss. If you get the chance, take out Eunmi, too. Now go, I have some other matters to attend to."

Jaejoong stuffed the note and the photo into his pocket before walking out the door. Just as he reached the elevator with which he had went up to his boss, he remembered the conversation he had eavesdropped on. He still wondered with whom Yoochun had spoken. It seemed suspicious that they were so invested in his visits to Gwangju. Without further ado, he entered the elevator once again to go up. Making sure no one saw him, he went to Yoochun's office. The black-winged kite was already waiting for him. It had something between his claws. A phone.

"Good," Jaejoong praised the bird as it gave the phone to him. It was Yoochun's. Jaejoong switched it on and to his surprise, it wasn't locked. He quickly looked up the recent calls. But as he found them, he let the phone fall as shock washed through him.

The kite startled and flew up and out the window. Jaejoong quickly looked around to check if someone was coming. He neither heard nor saw anyone. A fast grab for the phone and then a step towards the office. But just as he was about to open the door, he realized what had happened.
The phone was broken, the display ruined. If he put it back into the office, Yoochun would notice that someone was in there. Jaejoong had to act quickly, so he pushed it into his pocket as well, before running back to the elevator. He had almost reached it when he heard the familiar 'bing' and the door went open. At the last second, Jaejoong stayed around the corner and listened.

"..need to balance the.." "..it's too important to.."

Two different voices. One was definitely Yoochun's. Jaejoong immediately turned around and ran for the stairs.

The other two didn't see him escape that way. Jaejoong breathed out in relief before making his way out the building.

He was halfway home when the black-winged kite came to settle down on his shoulder. "That was close," it said, its raw voice singing into Jaejoong's ear.

Jaejoong wasn't even surprised to see the bird back again. "Yeah, it was. Thanks for helping though. You are often showing yourself today. What's up?"

"You needed all the help you could get," the bird answered with a snickering sound.

Jaejoong knew it was true, but he didn't bother to reply. They just walked home in silence.

As Jaejoong unlocked the door and waited for the kite to fly off, the other one started to talk again. "What was on the phone?"

Jaejoong's body went hot, then cold in mere seconds as he remembered. "Fuck."
