*11. February*

HeeChul was free for the rest of the afternoon, if it could be called free to be locked up in a boarding school with a lab.

HeeChul had needed to tell KiBum five times about HanKyung being dead, before the other one finally didn't ask for him anymore. HeeChul wasn't sure if he had realized what had happened, because spending these past days with KiBum, HeeChul was sure by now, that the other one was already insane.

HeeChul looked back at KiBum lying on the ground, not moving. It was usual to see him like that, but HeeChul couldn't stand the sight anymore. It made him hopeless.

So he quietly walked out of the room. He looked to his right and to his left. Not knowing where to go and where it would lead him, he chose the left and followed the hallway. It was empty. Maybe, today was a special day, he thought, because it was unusual to see no one around.

HeeChul sighed and looked around until he saw students outside. HeeChul stopped walking to look out of the window. His heart beat faster. He hadn't talked to anyone else except of these scary men and KiBum, and he missed having a real conversation or at least to see someone else, someone normal.

HeeChul looked around, frantically searching for a way to reach the students. He ran along the hallways. His body was still not fit at all, but he was better than before.

He narrowed his eyes and stopped breathing for a moment. His heart skipped a beat as sunshine fell down on him. He had found a way out. At least, out of the building he had been locked up in.

HeeChul looked around and studied the way the area was made of two buildings, the lab and the school itself.

HeeChul ran toward the other building. He rushed inside. He still remembered his first day and how he had entered this school for the first time. He remembered being lost.

HeeChul's heart beat faster as he headed for his previous room. He wondered if DongHae was still there.

No one of the other students seemed to recognize him. He had been new after all, and just after a short time, he had disappeared. It was only a bit stranger, because he had been stared at when he had been outside with SiWon.

HeeChul reached his room. He hesitated. Should he open the door? He slowly did so. He scanned the room. Two people were inside and one of them was DongHae.

DongHae's eyes widened in shock and surprise. He stuttered something no one was able to understand before he had to sit down on his bed.

"HeeChul?" he asked in a whisper.

HeeChul nodded.

"What-? How come you-?" DongHae was unable to form proper sentences. The other boy noticed the awkward atmosphere. He stood up and with a look at DongHae, he left the room.

HeeChul looked after him, waited until he had left, and then approached DongHae. "How are you?" he asked hesitantly. He wasn't quite sure how to face his friend after all this time.

"I can't understand...how can you be here?" DongHae asked in confusion.

HeeChul frowned. "Where else should I be then?" he asked back. DongHae acted strange.

"Dead...," a whisper was heard.

HeeChul watched him closely, but didn't react much. "Why?" he simply asked.

"Won't you die? After that what had happened? ...I thought you would die...so if you don't die...then...you are alive. Alive. Still alive?" DongHae met HeeChul's eyes.

"What are you talking about, Hae? You mean, because of the scandal with us, me and...SiWon?" he asked eventually and DongHae nodded.

HeeChul wanted to say something, but suddenly, DongHae started to shake his head frantically.

"DongHae? What is wrong?" HeeChul asked in concern.

"I'm sorry. HeeChul, I'm sorry. Where is SiWon? Is he still alive?"

"I...don't know," HeeChul admitted, a little bit surprised about DongHae's question.

"I'm sorry, HeeChul. It was me. It was me. I was so selfish."

"What are you talking about?" HeeChul asked in confusion, just not understanding what DongHae was talking about.

"I told the principal back then," his friend confessed. Guilt was written all over his face, so HeeChul couldn't even be angry at him. He only looked helplessly at him. "Why?" he finally asked in a whisper after some time he had needed to process the new information.

DongHae looked away. "I knew what would happen to you sooner or later. I have been in a similar situation. I thought when I told Mr. Lee about you, he would give me Hyukkie back," he admitted reluctantly. His voice was quiet and sad and HeeChul felt pity for him. So Hyukkie was his lover?

"Do you have him back?" HeeChul dared to ask, although he was sure he already knew the answer.

DongHae shook his head. "No," he replied with a hoarse voice.

HeeChul stared at DongHae. Tears were falling down his friend's cheeks. It hurt HeeChul inside.

"I guess, he's dead by now," DongHae whispered and looked up at HeeChul.

HeeChul's eyes widened even more. What if SiWon was dead as well? "Do you think...SiWon...?" HeeChul couldn't even put his thoughts into words, but DongHae understood nonetheless. "They won't let you stay alive. Not both of you. I heard you were able to escape. If he wasn't dead when they took you back in here, then they surely are on the hunt for him. They might have already killed him. But they would never let both of you survive," DongHae explained sadly.

HeeChul lowered his head. Tears threatened to escape his eyes. He wiped his cheeks. "I should go now, before they find me," he stated and ran out of the room.
