---[38 - WEDNESDAY]
HeeChul woke up the next day with his head aching painfully.
He groaned. He didn't want to open his eyes but he had to. He looked around, clearly disorientated and wondered just where he was. He couldn't remember anything and right now, he just knew that this wasn't his room and this wasn't his bed he was lying in. He thought back at his work and sat up in shock. He hadn't gone with one of the customers at the club, he told himself with a shaking voice. He wasn't sure because he couldn't remember anything. The sudden movement made his head hurt even more and to the headache came that his stomach hurt as well.
HeeChul groaned, turned around and burried his head under the pillow.
He didn't want to get up anytime soon. Maybe, in the evening, he thought, wouldn't be that bad. At least, he could hope that the pain was gone by then.
He thought of the things he actually should have done today before evening and sat up again, suddenly thinking of his daughter. She had to go to school and he wasn't even home to take care of her.
"Fuck," he cursed when his body hurt even more and it was then, that the door to his room was opened by a girl.
"Oh, poor you. How are you? Have you slept well? Okay, what a question, of course you haven't. But you shouldn't drink that much. I can understand you though. With your kid, to take care of it on your own without her mother..." It was MinJee and she kept on talking.
HeeChul's head felt like it would explode any second. "Please, can't you be a little bit more quiet?" he asked pleadingly and MinJee stopped, suddenly realizing that HeeChul probably was in pain.
"Oh," she stopped, observed HeeChul and then started to smile. "Here, KiBum told me to give this to you," she announced and gave him some pills along with a glass filled with water to reduce his headache.
HeeChul took it gladly and swallowed everything quickly.
"So you were pretty out of it yesterday, I heard?" she asked with raised eyebrows. "What's wrong?"
"Ah, nothing. I don't know either," HeeChul lied with a shrug of his shoulders.
"But there has to be something that made you upset! You can tell me," she told him with a big reassuring smile.
HeeChul smiled weakly. "There is nothing much that upsets me. I'm just a little bit sad about something, but I don't want to talk about it," he said, so that MinJee would finally stop asking.
MinJee nodded. "Okay. KiBum is out, so if you need anything, just ask me," she said and left.
HeeChul sighed and let himself fall back into the mattress.
His head stopped hurting and he could remember some more things. "Chin-Sun's with Kilian. How could I forget?" he wondered out loud but was relieved that everything was okay.
"I should get up though," he murmured to himself but didn't move at first. He needed a couple of minutes, before he eventually stood up. He was still fully dressed in those clothes he wore yesterday and he smelled of alcohol. He had to go home quickly and take a shower, so he said goodbye to MinJee and left.
It was still early and he was thankful for that, so he didn't have to meet any other people he knew.
HeeChul went home but SiWon wasn't there and slowly, he lost hope that he would return any time soon. His mother had said he was with his father in their old city. Would HeeChul see him again?
HeeChul spent his morning with doing nothing other than cleaning the house a little bit before he went out to pick his daughter up from school.
"Umma!" she yelled and ran towards him. "Shh, don't call me 'Umma' out here," he told her quickly but embraced her happily nonetheless.
"I'm sorry, Appa," she murmured with a pout and HeeChul chuckled and pulled at her cheek softly. "Ah, my little baby girl, don't pout like that!" he stated and kissed her nose with a grin.
Chin-Sun giggled and gave her school bag and the bag with her sleeping clothes to HeeChul to carry and then went next to him home.
"So, should I call Kyu and Min today, so they can take care of you this evening?" HeeChul asked while he paid for ice cream on their way home when they passed SiWon's favorite café.
Chin-Sun smiled brightly when HeeChul gave her the ice cream and nodded excitedly. "Yes, Um- ...Appa! I love you. Thank you," she exclaimed and hugged HeeChul, making his jeans white with ice cream.
"Oh, Chin-Sun!" HeeChul sighed. "Pay more attention," he told her and she immediately became sad and looked away.
HeeChul sighed once more and ruffled her hair. "It's okay but be more careful next time," he said and she nodded with big eyes.
HeeChul gave her a warm smile, showing her that he really wasn't mad and when the little girl realized that, she smiled back happily.
---
It was almost evening when HeeChul greeted SungMin and KyuHyun. They had come over to look after Chin-Sun while HeeChul would be at work.
He smiled thankfully and left with a last kiss for his daugter.
HeeChul went towards the club and greeted everyone with a smile. This time though, he would take better care of himself and not drink so much. He surely was sad but he didn't need to drink until he fainted.
His boss greeted him and HeeChul made his way to the bar after he changed his clothes.
This time, he enjoyed his work without drinking any alcohol.
---
HeeChul came back home and said goodbye to KyuHyun and SungMin. He looked at his phone and was surprised to see a message. He immediately thought of SiWon but his number would be shown and this time, his phone didn't know the number. He opened it quickly, not knowing what to expect.
'I'm sorry for the whole time not being there. Also, I lost my phone, that's why you probably don't know this number. My mother told you about moving, I heard? Can you come over on Friday? -Love, SiWon'
HeeChul froze on his place. He needed some time to understand everything. So SiWon would go on Friday and he wanted HeeChul to come over to say goodbye? HeeChul wasn't sure if he should go. He was afraid that he would start crying but he had missed SiWon so much. Over the past years, he had come to love SiWon more than anything and he just couldn't let go of him like this. In the end, he decided to go to his parents' house on Friday. He didn't know if he should take Chin-Sun with him. He didn't want to make her sad but she deserved to see SiWon one last time.
HeeChul eventually went to bed but he couldn't sleep well because he was thinking of SiWon the whole time. He didn't want him to go.
---[39 - THURSDAY]
HeeChul took Chin-Sun to school like every morning and afterwards he went to his doctor for a check-up.
He was a little bit nervous and he also didn't like going to a doctor but he knew he had to.
---
"Everything's alright, Mr. Kim, but you have to relax a little bit more. It seems that you are a little bit stressed. Did something happen?" the doctor asked at the end of the check-up with concern in his voice.
HeeChul just smiled. "I'm fine. You know, this whole pregnancy is a little bit stressing but I'm okay," he lied because he didn't want to talk about his problems with someone he didn't know very well.
"Okay, then see you in a few weeks," the doctor said and waved at HeeChul with a warm smile.
HeeChul left the building in relief. He was a little bit worried for his child because he knew that the chance that something will be wrong with it, is much higher with male pregnancy.
He could only hope that nothing bad will happen.
HeeChul went back home. On his way, he crashed into someone else and he cursed loudly. What was wrong with him? He was too distracted these days. It happened way too often that he bumped into someone else.
"HeeChul!" he heard a familiar, happy voice call and arms hugged him.
HeeChul was a little bit surprised and blinked a few times before he recognized the person.
"Henry!" he said in surprise and Henry smiled brightly. HeeChul smiled back because Henry's smile just made him happy as well.
"HeeChul, how are you? HeeChul...," Henry let go of HeeChul and looked down between them to HeeChul's tummy.
HeeChul sighed. How should he tell Henry who didn't even know about him being able to get pregnant?
"It looks like you are pregnant," Henry stated jokingly. "Sorry," he added with an apologetic smile and HeeChul just smiled back. "You know, I gained a little bit more weight," he said with a shrug and Henry nodded. "Sorry," he murmured once again.
"It's okay. Ah, you sometimes are really similar to KiBummie," HeeChul suddenly stated. He didn't know why he thought like this but he did and he just told Henry then.
Henry smiled happily. "Really? Oh, I really like him. He's always so nice to me. So thank you really much. Ah, what are you doing now? I invite you. Come with me to the café we went last time," Henry suggested.
HeeChul didn't want to make him sad, so he agreed. He hadn't planned anything else anyway.
"Thank you," Henry exclaimed in excitement and dragged HeeChul with him.
They reached the café and sat down on a free table. They both ordered something to drink and sat there, talking.
The door was opened and two other men came in. And to HeeChul's surprise he knew them both and his eyes widened.
The same was with one of the new men.
"HeeChul," he said in wonder and approached him and Henry.
HeeChul slowly stood up, not saying anything.
SiWon was standing in front of him, not saying anything else as well. They were just staring at each other and eventually, slowly, SiWon took the last step and put his arms tightly around HeeChul's waist, hugging him firmly.
HeeChul wrapped his arms around SiWon's neck. He had missed him so much. He closed his eyes and SiWon did the same and they just enjoyed the other's presence that was there once again.
HeeChul prevented his tears from falling and smiled when he opened his eyes after what felt like an eternity and only one second at the same time.
They let go of each other and went back to staring into each other's eyes.
"Where have you been?" HeeChul then asked and SiWon smiled at him. "Sit down first," he said softly and pulled the chair back for HeeChul to do so.
HeeChul sat down and SiWon sat down next to him with LeeTeuk.
Henry grinned happily at seeing HeeChul and SiWon both so happy. It seemed as if they hadn't seen each other for a long time, he thought.
HeeChul even smiled at LeeTeuk even though he felt a little bit betrayed for LeeTeuk already was spending some time with SiWon and he hadn't told HeeChul first that SiWon was back.
"Have you gotten my text message?" SiWon asked and HeeChul nodded.
"Then you know about that. So do you come to me tomorrow?" SiWon asked and HeeChul nodded, even though his smile faded slightly.
"I missed you so much, Chullie," SiWon murmured and reached for HeeChul's hand.
Henry stared at them, by now in shock and LeeTeuk took the responsibility to explain to him that HeeChul and SiWon were a couple.
Henry was more than shocked. He probably hadn't any gay friends, so he didn't know how to react but he took it pretty well in HeeChul's opinion.
SiWon and HeeChul sat close together and HeeChul had his hand on SiWon's thigh while the other was caressing it softly with his own hand.
They both were smiling. HeeChul didn't want to ask. He didn't want to be sad but he eventually opened his mouth. "Where have you been the whole time?"
"I was with my parents. You know, due to the house moving," SiWon explained with a shrug, but he kept his smile.
HeeChul sighed but smiled as well. "So you'll spent the next day at your parents', right?" he asked and SiWon nodded.
They changed the subject and just talked about some usual things like the weather and some news and whatever else they thought about and HeeChul was trying to enjoy at least this conversation.
"It's good that we met," SiWon stated at the end and HeeChul nodded in agreement.
Eventually, they had to part and when HeeChul looked at the clock, he realized that it was already midday and he had to pick his daughter up from school.
Chin-Sun smiled brightly. She seemed to have gotten over the fact that SiWon wasn't with them anymore and so, she gave HeeChul her best smile. She also knew, that HeeChul was sad because SiWon wasn't with them, so she didn't want to make him even more sad with being unhappy as well.
"How was school, my princess?" HeeChul asked happily, trying to forget the thoughts of tomorrow.
"Fine. Appa, do you know, my teacher said I was really good in maths today. He's proud of me," she stated and HeeChul embraced her happily. "That's great. So you're giving your best in school, right?" he asked and Chin-Sun nodded. "YES, of course, Appa!" she exclaimed.
"And look, Appa, I call you 'Appa' and not 'Umma'. Ain't I good?" she asked happily and HeeChul chuckled even though he had to admit that he secretly wanted her to call him Umma once again because that reminded him of SiWon being the Appa.
"Let's go home now," HeeChul said and offered his hand to his daughter who took it happily.
At home, HeeChul helped his daughter with her homework before he called SungMin and KyuHyun once again. "Please just this one time today," he asked them but SungMin said "Don't worry, HeeChul. It's okay. We like to look after her. She's such a good girl and Kyu really likes her. I think he wants a child as well, but I can't giving him one...sadly," he stated and HeeChul smiled in relief. "Thank you then," he said and hung up.
---
Like the last few days, SungMin and KyuHyun arrived hand in hand and HeeChul quickly said goodbye before he left for work.
There, he did his job well as always and when his boss came over, he asked him with a hopeful smile. "Can I have a day off tomorrow, please? I have some personal issues and-" HeeChul was cut off with his explanation by his boss. "It's okay. I understand you can't stress yourself too much with being pregnant but you have to come back on Monday, alright?" he said and HeeChul nodded and thanked him happily.
The day passed and his shift was over. HeeChul went back home with no incident. He was sober and he didn't even smell that much of alcohol.
At home, he thanked SungMin and KyuHyun who were sitting on the couch, watching some romantic movie while cuddling.
HeeChul grinned. "Hey, there. I'm home. Thanks again for looking after my daughter," he said and SungMin and KyuHyun both looked up in surprise. They hadn't expected HeeChul to be there already.
"HeeChul...Ah, okay. No need to thank us, right, Kyu? You know we like this. So how was work?" SungMin asked while KyuHyun turned off the tv.
"Oh, just the usual. Nothing special. Then, good night, you two," HeeChul said and they waved at him before leaving the apartment.
HeeChul looked after his sleeping daughter, giving her a kiss on the cheek before leaving for bed as well.
He laid down and sighed. He missed SiWon so much but he was more than happy that he had seen him once again. He was glad that he took Henry's inventation and came with him to the café.
Eventually, he drifted off to sleep.
