No more pesky navigation strip on LJ!

Ok, this Navigation Strip in LJ is annoying! If you feel the same you can disable this thing by doing the following.

1. Copy this url: livejournal.com/manage/settings/?authas=username
   
   
2. In your browser's address bar paste and remove username with your LJ username.
   
   
3. If sucessful you should be in your account's navigation strip. Once there you need to either scroll or tab to the 3rd option and uncheck all boxes. And you'll also want to uncheck the box for Video content in pics. You'll also want to disablethe Contexual Hover and that has a check box that you can uncheck too.
   
   
4. Now look for Online Status. While we're at it, if you don't have Gizmo/LJ Talk or want your privacy if you do you can disable the online status to Nobody. Finally you can also check the last check box that asks if you want LJ to inlcusion your LJ entries (meaning LJ requests most search engines not to include your journal or particular entry as a search result.).
   
   Click on "Save Entries"

And you're done! I find Nav Strips some what convient but the one on LJ is not and is annoying. None of my communities, my LJ or blindvi should be showing this crappy navigation system at the top. The navigation strips aren't showing, but if they do like I showed you in the instructions above, you can disable those and the contexual hover menus. The contextual hover menus you have to disable in your own navigation settings.
