Today was a barbecue at my uncle's house. What the... burning hair. Someone needs to learn how to use the hairdrier. Blech. On a second note I've been kicked out of my bathroom and have to use the guest one on the other side of the house because my sister has a friend over. Oh well. Third... when does Florida get to 45˚? It's unheard of.

Back to the barbecue. It's been a while since I've had a Brazilian style barbecue. Didn't each much because I was told to go on the comp which lasted me until dessert time. Oops. There were these little kids there and they were playing old-school games. It was so great. Nowadays you see kids obsessed with the newest generation of consoles and the latest games and killing spree and BAM. These kids were playing NES-style, pixelated-graphics hockey, american football and, best of all, fishy. For those of you who have not had the priviledge of playing fishy, it's the game in which you're a fish and you can only eat the fish smaller than you and have to avoid the bigger fish or they will eat you. Classic. And they played outside. I mean what kid nowadays plays outside and likes it. Hurray.

After the football game on TV, my family went home and I stayed behind because I was to play cards with my cousins. We ended up playing Scrabble after discussing what was wrong with this new generation teens (or at least just my sister). So i got last in scrabble because I put the wrong word at the end. I could have put ZONE on a double word score and that would have given me 26 points that I desperately needed followed by ZAP into the triple word score for 42 more points. Instead, I put PEA and get a measley 10 points. It was the first time I played that criss-crossed words don't matter or count. Oh well.

We then played cards - a Latin game that goes by the name of Buraco (Hole) or Canastra. Not sure what the English/American name for it is but that's what I know it as. It's really fun. Really been a while since I played it. First game we did really badly - 870 to 0. Then we caught up a bit - 1550 to 900. Managed to catch up some more - 1670 to 1650. We had a final game - 2250 to 1790 - and then my dad came in the middle of the other one and we had to stop. Yes, I know I have an absurdely random memory. I've missed card games at school. Last summer I got the chance to play (Gin) Rummy but otherwise the only other game is Texas Hold-Em. We've got to start a card club or just play it every so often. Once a month at least. That's my update. On a final note, I'm almost done with the second Myst book (definetely recommend it) and am on episode 26 of Bleach (really good series). That is all for now.
