When it's convenient you walk through the door

There are a few other interns working at Northwest Passage Consulting, and it's pretty fascinating to talk to them. One's a complete joker and the other is so philosophical that half the time I have no clue what he's going on about. The individual words work, but fitting them together tends not to produce a cogent meaning. Nevertheless, when he does make sense, he's a lot of fun to converse with.

Aside from the painful commute, I'm really fond of said internship. Especially today, I did a lot of stuff I really enjoyed, including basically making a website for a representative (from my district!) The woman who assigned me the project said it was a "rockin'" job for my first time. I wonder how many other political candidate's pages are actually written by unpaid interns, although I do think I'm the only intern here who is in fact unpaid.

My first paycheck came on Tuesday, actually, from Clarks. Well, second paycheck, but the first was $11 for filling out forms and such. My commission currently adds up to just barely over minimum wage (it averages twelve cents an hour over minimum wage, to be exact; that other job I wanted would have been $9 an hour plus a meal per shift.) It's nowhere near enough, but it's better than nothing.
