In Sickness and in Health

I'm getting married!!!

Well, I've been engaged for a while, yeah, but we have an approaching date, and I am sooooo excited. It feels even more real because I found someone on Etsy to help me with the invitations, you know, designing them, and because my wedding band just arrived int he mail yesterday.

The wedding band just blows my mind it's so perfect. I found it on a website of an antique jewelry store someone out in PA I've never heard of. The inscription inside reads PL to ML 11-26-28, which means that 1928 two people who loved each other used the ring. I'm thinking of adding our initials and date to the ring, but I'm not sure it'll fit. There is something I love about the ring being pre-owned. Maybe it's all the good feelings it hopefully carries with it. Anyways, I love it.

But my fiance isn't doing so well. He's having a lot of stomach problems. At first it was a sudden onset of severe lactose intolerance (and horrible thing for someone who eats cheese at every meal, dairy in every sauce, and icecream at least once a day). Then he felt that way even when he took lactaoid pills. Then the intense stomach pains occured even when he wasn't eating. He'd feel in when he was trying to sleep,e trying to work, basically all the time every day.

His endoscopy (where they stick a camera down your throat all the way into your stomach) revealed no cyst or ulcer, but the doctor showed me his somach lining and it was definitely discolored. In the red and POLKA DOTTED way. Any body know how disconcerting it is to not only see stomach, but also funny-looking stomach? And at 8 o'clock in the morning, no less.

So she gave him pain meds, and said that the biopsy results might tell us if he has a stomach infection (who knew you could get those??) in which case they could treat it. Until then he's even more medicated. Poor baby.

ring illness, wedding
