I didn't buy Nick Cave's narration of his book, or 2 lectures of his on the history of love songs...

This is quickly shaping up to be a very good start to the holidays.

Yesterday I finished my last exam, which was a lot better than I could've hoped. This was a good thing.

That day I decided to treat myself to a CD shopping spree, so went to the Bourke st. JB. Whilst there I realised to my excitement that the new Tomahawk CD had been released 2 days ( Read more... )

Did you ask at the little music office thing? I've bought AIH CDs at the Liz St store before. It annoys me that when you ask they can usually find a copy for you, you really should be able to find it yourself.

I did but they were just like "omg the Elizabeth st. store has the Heart It Races EP", which just wasn't good enough for me.

I'm also using this reply here to tell you that I liked your latest web-illustration, coz I can't be mucked going back over there to post a comment. Your comics are an inspiration to my own frustrated "talent"!

Haha, thank you! My output is pathetic, and I have no consistent style or method, and I think it causes me more stress than it's worth most of the time... but it's usually pretty satisfying. WHERE ARE YOU PICTURES, HUH?

Just Who Cares A Lot? thus far, tho I also have the one he did with the Dillinger Escape Plan, which is ace. Buuuut I'm workin'.

And of course he's a dick, the man released an album of himself wailing in hotel rooms. He's just a dick in a completely different way to, say, Bono. The question is: what kind of dick is he?

Is he... the pleasurable kind?

"The one he did with the Dillinger Escape Plan"? I don't think I've heard that.. I may have to take it or a copy of it from you.

"Irony is a Dead Scene". It's one of them short records, not a full album, just three original songs and a cover of "Come To Daddy" by Aphex Twin. "When Good Dogs Do Bad Things" is amazing and makes me want to beat up Dillinger Escape Plan for making such excruciating music the rest of them time.

I'll make you a copy. Don't listen to it with yer ma.

Many JB stores are becoming snobbish. At least the only one close to me is. I wouldn't know about the others...

Hey I'm more than happy for them to become as snobbish as they like if it means they get people like Mike Patton to do a signing, and get bizarre rarities like Nick Cave's narration of his book "And The Ass Saw The Angel" (including thematic music by he and Mick Harvey), or two recorded lectures of his on the history of love songs.

It's 1pm, at the Bourke st. JB! Don't feel you need to get off work on my behalf though, in case you actually want to watch me fumble my way awkwardly through praise.
