Doctor Who Review - Silence in the Library

Ok so here we go, i'm picking apart the latest Who episode because i have no life.

1 - I love the running gag about the spoilers, Moffat possibly not a fan of us Doctor Who spoiler whores? I personally think any and all writers for television shows hate spoilers, especially when the whole damn plot gets leaked. Like with the last episode of Torchwood series two, that episode's plot was on the internet for days before the show actually aired. If i was the writer, i think i'd be a little peeved too. And i like that in the Whoverse that spoilers can actually be written into a storyline, very cute. Kind of cheeky too.

2 - River Song. Um hello? Her last name is song and the Doctor's song is coming to an end. She's got something to do with Rose, i'd bet good money on it. What would be more fun though would be if she turns out to be evil, because oh that would be soooo Moffat's style. She's the one who ends the song, or at least has something to do with it. Which, btw i LOVE the casting on that. I loved Alex Kingston back when she was on ER, it's nice to see her in something again.

3 - Again, more about River Song. No, she's not the Doctor's wife, she's not Romana. Can't fans see the HUGE plot holes in those theories? The Doctor had a grandchild in the the first series, and i mean the 1963 series. Susan, which yeah i know some still hoo-hum about whether she was his actual grandchild or not. But so far it seems to be the most widely believed thought and backed up in quite a lot of canon. So anyway, yes where was i? Oh, the Doctor had Susan with him in his very first incarnation, which means he and his wife 'had' Susan's mother when he was still on his first incarnation. Just hopefully before he got all old looking lol. And since his family died LONG before the tenth Doctor rolled around, River wouldn't have recognized him as being the Doctor. Of course the TARDIS and everything would have clued her in sooner or later duh. But she kept saying that he was from very EARLY, meaning they hadn't met yet. Meaning, not his wife. Unless he has a second wife, which i wouldn't rule out. Ya know, just once i'd like to see him have a husband. Or maybe both, the best of both worlds ;)
And she's not Romana for pretty much the same reasons i just stated, again. Early on, blah blah blah. She knew him as Four, blah blah blah. So technically Ten would be LATER on, blah blah blah. Oh yes, moving right along.

4 - Is anyone else thinking there's going to be a huge Captain Jack storyline coming up? Or at least be leading into something huge that'll bleed over into Torchwood for the 3rd series? Really, there's a whole hell of a lot of references to him, things he's done, places he's been, and things he's owned. IE; Volcano Day, Are you my mummy, Never wear a clone t-shirt in front of Captain Jack, My old hand looks pretty happy about it, 51st Century, Squareness gun, Been to the end of the universe. Shall i continue? Plus, Moffat was the brain child behind Captain Jack, so he can do pretty much whatever the hell he wants with him.

5 - Watching the episode i just couldn't help thinking that River has some tie in with Jack. I don't know why, just the smart ass things she says. The way she says she likes looking at all the pretty people but Strackman Lux so he can keep his helmet on cause he's not one of them, the fact that they had the same gun. She says she's been the the end of the universe with the Doctor. Perhaps a friend? Relative? I mean sure the flirting and gun can all just be chalked up to them both being from the 51st century, but the end of the universe thing? Really, after the Master i doubt the Doctor would take the trip again with another companion. She's tied in some how, just watch.

6 - Donna, gotta love Donna. As per usual i loved her, and she just stole the screen every time she was on it. I hate that her face is now on a giant phallic symbol, that can't be fun. And seriously what was with those giant white things like looked the penises? I wasn't the only one that saw that right? Really, the phallic imagery that's in Doctor Who is so blatant sometime lol. I wonder if the dirty minded writers do that on purpose, i know i would lol. But i'm evil like that.

7 - Hehe, the kid's living in The Matrix. Fuck, the kid IS the Matrix lol. And she sucked poor Donna into it. I hope she (donna) doesn't wake up bald in some slime filled tub covered in tubes like Keanu did lmao.

8 - Omg, how tacky is the walking suit!? Omg, i LOVE it. The fricking fake skull wiggles when the actor takes a step, i died laughing. It gives me flash backs to the really cheesy effects they used on the old Who, it's great. The cheesier, the better i saw.

9 - Oh, the way River looked at Donna when she realized who she was. Did that not just scream, 'she's fricking dead!' to anyone else? Really, not fair! Donna's toast, which i hate. I like Donna, hell i LOVE Donna. She's my favorite companion to date (aside from Romana 2), and when IF she dies i'm going to be so upset. I hope she doesn't, i hope all this 'she's gonna die' underline tension that the writers are building up is just a fake out. And they'll to a total 180 at the very last minute, and boom Donna lives! Even if she doesn't go on as his companion, at least she'll live. And oh god, how i wish she would continue on as his companion, but i have a feeling that Jenny might be set up to be the next one. That is IF she doesn't fulfill her red shirt tendencies and end up dead, AGAIN. And this time there will be no terraforming agent to wake her ass up, buh-bye Jenny. Ok, so i know that sounded like i don't like Jenny. Which isn't the case, i thought she was cute and i liked the character. But i like Donna just a whole lot more is all, plus i felt bringing her back from the dead cheapened what could have been a really great ending for the episode.

10 - He mentioned the Daleks! He mentioned the Daleks! See, he so jinxed himself. Now when the Daleks show up he can feel like an ass, if he just had kept his mouth shut everything would have been fine. But noooo, be had to go and poke the proverbial bear and now they're going to show up because no bear, proverbial or not. Likes to be poked.

Anyway, that's all for now. It's late and i'm tired. That's all the ranting i'm going to do tonight, i can't wait until next Saturday! Ooooh, what happens!? *bites nails nervously*
