WARNING!SPOILERS FOR COE EPISODE FOUR!!

It had worked, the children were saved and the alien’s gone. Torchwood had saved the day, but not without it’s casualties. Gwen stood in the middle of a large room, the floor lined with bodies covered with red sheets. Rhys was next to her, an arm wrapped loosely around her waist. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she stared blankly over the sea of red clothed death and despair, there was a loud bang as the doors opened causing both her and Rhys to turn.

“Jack?” Gwen questioned, watching her boss walk into the room carrying what looked like a huge humidifier. “What’s that?”

“The anti-virus.” He said simply.

“What?”

“You heard me.” Jack grunted as he hauled the large piece of tech over to where the two were standing, placing it on the ground.

“Where did you get it?”

“It was in their air.” Gwen just looked confused so Jack explained. “The virus they used to kill everyone was in their air, the poison they breathed in the tank. So it only made sense that the anti-virus could be found in their air as well.”

“How did you get it out?”

“Mr, Dekker.”

“The man who built the tank?” Gwen asked.

“Yes.”

“How did you get him to do that?”

“The guilt of cowardice is something that is easily manipulated.” Jack stated simply. “He ran, he survived when no one else did. He was open to suggestion.”

“In other words you threatened him.” Rhys said.

“Yes.” Jack nodded, bending down to turn the machine on. A soft shushing sound filled the room, the air growing a tad warmer.

“Jack, you can’t actually think an anti-virus will work. They’re dead!” Rhys said, motioning to the sea of bodies.

“Shh, shh.” Gwen said, taking her husband by the upper arm. “Let him try.” She whispered, knowing Jack had to at least attempt to fix the problem.

The three stood there watching as the minutes dragged on, their eyes scanning the room for any changes. None of them moved until they heard yet another person enter the room, turning they saw John Frobisher standing in the door way. Jack’s face contorted in anger, he walked quickly over and grabbed the smaller man by his lapels.

“Jack!” Gwen said, making a move to grab at him.

“Stay here!” Jack snapped at her. “Keep a watch.” He turned back to the other man. “You, come with me.” And with that he dragged Frobisher from the room, leaving Gwen and Rhys alone.

“He’s going to kick his ass.” Rhys muttered, to which Gwen just sighed and rolled her eyes at her husband. “This isn’t going to work is it?”

“I don’t know.” Gwen admitted darkly.

The two stood in silence for a few moments, the whole time watching for a sign, any sign that the anti-virus was working. That was when Gwen saw it, a twitch! Just a twitch, so very slight she was sure Rhys had missed it.

“Stay here.” She said to him as she carefully walked over to one of the bodies, kneeling down next to it. She took a deep breath and pulled back the sheets, trying not to get her hopes up. Beneath the sheet laid a young woman, blonde, pretty. Gwen stared at her lifeless form, watching for a sign of life. That was when she saw it again, her hand, it moved. Gwen smiled, leaning over the woman, touching her face. “She’s warm!” She called out to Rhys.

“What!?”

“She’s warm! Her skin, it’s warming up!” Gwen said, her heart speeding up with excitement with each passing second.

“Bloody hell.” Rhys breathed in awe from where he stood.

Gwen jumped up and ran over to another sheet, tearing it back quickly. A larger man, balding, his pale skin now a warm pink. “It’s working!” She said loudly, turning to look at her husband. “My god, I think it’s working!” She suddenly started running through the room, pulling the sheets off of everyone. Rhys followed suit, walking along the lines of bodies and quickly tugging the covers away from them. Gwen stopped at the last body, kneeling down as she slowly pulled the sheet back revealing Ianto. She leaned over him, balancing herself on one hand as she placed the other on his cheek. “Ianto?” She said softly.

“Well?” Rhys questioned, standing by the feet of a dark skinned man. “Is it work-ah!” He shouted out in surprise as the man before him suddenly gasped for air, attempting to sit up. “Woah mate, it’s alright.” Rhys said, dropping to the floor next to the no longer dead man, helping him sit.

Gwen smiled as there were gasps around the room, the previously dead coming back to life.
“Ianto?” She spoke his name again, looking down at him. “Come on, wake up.” She urged. “We need you.” She said, pleading. “Jack needs you, wake up!” With a startled gasp Ianto suddenly opened his eyes, grabbing her arm as he attempted to sit up. “Shh, it’s alright.” Gwen said quickly, wrapping her free arm around his shoulders and helping him get upright.

“Gwen?” Ianto choked out, looking into her big bright eyes.

The woman smiled, tears streaming down her face. “Yeah.”

“Was I dead?”

She chuckled softly, nodding. “Yeah.”

Ianto paused, staring off into space as the memories of his last moments washed over his mind. “Oh yeah, alien in a tank.”

Gwen grinned, still crying as she nodded once again. “Don’t do that again eh?” She said.

“Promise.” Ianto smirked.

Gwen laughed as she pulled him against her chest, hugging him tightly.

Jack was looking down at his right hand, shaking it as he re-entered the room a few minutes later. “You know, they say you should never hit a man closed fisted or a man who wears glasses. I do believe I just broke both of those rules.” He said, shaking his hand out. When he looked up he stopped mid stride, Rhys standing before him with his arms wide open.

“Look! Just look, you brilliant bastard you!” Rhys laughed, the room behind him full of now very alive people all mulling around in a large group. They all looked disoriented but most of all they looked healthy, Jack gasped.

“Ianto.” He breathed, walking forward quickly. He brushed past Rhys, although the man followed close behind. He pushed past people, getting through the group to where he knew Ianto had been laying. Once he got past the ocean of bodies, he stopped at the sight that greeted him. Standing there, hand in hand with Gwen was Ianto. Perfect, beautiful, alive Ianto.

“Jack.” Ianto said, catching sight of the older man.

Jack let out a shuddering sob, his breath leaving his chest in a woosh. “Thank you.” He muttered almost silently as tears began to stream down his face. “Oh thank you!” He said as he stepped forward, grabbing a hold of the Welshman and pulling him into a tight embrace. Ianto’s arms snaked around Jack’s waist instinctively, his face buried against the older man’s neck.
Jack sobbed against Ianto’s hair as he clung to him, squeezing him against his body, relishing in the thumping heart beat that he felt against his chest.

“Jack.” Ianto said softly, pulling back only enough to look into the other man’s eyes. “About what I said.”

“Don’t.” Jack said, cutting him off. “Don’t you dare take it back.”

Ianto just gave him a slightly hopeful but questioning look.

“Don’t you dare.” Jack breathed out, leaning in a ghosting his lips light along Ianto’s. “I love you.” He whispered into the younger man’s mouth before kissing him deeply, all tongues and teeth and need.

Gwen and Rhys both smiled as they watched the two cling to each other, lost in their passion, their want, and for the first time in their admitted love.

Love it? Hate it? Lemme know, comments are love ^_^
