I hope everyone's doing well. It's a little chilly here. I made soup yesterday so I'll heat that up on the stove this evening. My mom suggested canned potatos, but I'mnot using those again. I've got a rotato which peals potatos without me having to use a knife, and it's just as easy to boil the potatos for a vegetable soup. I don't mind canned green beans, corn, etc in soup, but you got to have freshly pealed potatos. I mean, it's really good, but I for one prefer potatos you peal yourself. Now if you're in a bind and you don't have time to boil your potatos, that's understandable. But over all, vegetable soup doesn't take but 50 or so minutes to make. I like letting mine simmer for a while so the flavor is distributed throughout.
Mom called me the yesterday and told me there were some roasts on sale, so I'm headed to the store to take advantage of that. Chicken breasts on sale too, and since I'm no fool, I'll pick some of those up too.
I had a vivid dream last night, in other news. I think it was very cold outside. Seems like I was at some stupid concert. there were tuns of people there, but never mind all of them. I ran into one of my friends from college. She looked like she was past the point of being worn out. Everyone seemed to be warm and comfortable, but she wore no jacket or gloves. I remember her shaking like a leaf blown every which way during an autumn day. When she hugged me, I noticed how very thin she was. She's one to drape her arm around your shoulders and hug you from the side, laying her cheek against your own. I noticed her face was a little wet from crying. So I think I'll get on facebook and see how she's doing. I never put too much stock in dreams, if you're wondering. My dreams are usually goofy and don't make that much sense. I'll be at the Mall and run into Optimus Prime getting something from Chick FilA, that kind of thing. So I tend to sit up and take notice when I have a serious dream like the former.
I started reading Different Seasons yesterday. Shawshank Redemption's the first of the 4 novelas. I've never read that one before. It's a great read. I've read Apt Pupil before, but not The Body or The Breatheing Method. I also downloaded Lisey's Story from audible, so I've got alot of reading material to wade through. Oh yeah, I forgot about Duma Key. But all these books will undoubtedly be finished by March since all I do is read during evenings sans Thursdays and Fridays when I watch Smallville and The Clone Wars. Smallville and Clone Wars are going to rock this week. Really looking forward to Clone Wars because there's a traitor in the ranks of the clone troopers. So Captain Rex has to do some investigating to discover which of his thousands of brothers has switched sides. I thought the clones were trained to be less indipendent. I smell a Mandalorian creeping around somewhere. Looks like Anakin and Obi Wan have to go up against Asajj Ventress in a lightsaber duel besides all this other cloak and dagger stuff.
