Grandma's birthday, etc

Well, got up at 5something in the morning on Friday. Had to have two cups of coffee before leaving. That was wonderful. Had only got about 5 hrs sleep before getting up at 5 or so. Was awake most of the way to TN. I may have slept for about an hour. I went up for a nap when I reached grandma's. Must have needed it because when I woke up, it was about 2 in the afternoon. Maybe I should have foregone the coffee, but it tasted so good and it was so cold outside when I woke up.
They made a roast for supper which was wonderful. Didn't eat too much, but mom says I need to splurge since I reached my goal in terms of the pounds I wanted to lose. So I had a doughnut for dessert. They had like three different kinds of pound cake. No one liked the chocolate, so I tried a tiny slice of that. Yep, I didn't like it either. It was store bought and dry as cardboard. Then they tried to send the cake home with me and Angel when we were putting baby Lilly in the car. My aunt's words... "Uh, hey you guys, why don't you take some of this with you? It's, um, really good." I knew they were trying to dump the cardboard cake on us. They knew that we knew. So it ended up sitting over at grandma's, but I do have a few doughnuts i can have for breakfast in the morning. I don't mind eating left over roast tomorrow for supper either. They wanna do pizza, but i'll probably eat what's left from supper today. I read all those websites telling about the amount of calories in pizza hut pizza as well as all those fastfood burgers, and no freakin wonder I weighed so much while in college. As far as I'm concerned, the relationship between fastfood and this blind guy has come to an end. Ok, I'll bend the rules for Stake N Shake and Chick Fil-A every one week out of the month, maybe. But I'm perfectly content with baked chicken, burgers on the George Forman, all that stuff. I love preparing home made vegetable soup. These days I make it without ground beaf, and it's just as good.
Ok, I might as well tell you how much I weighed last July of 08 when I decided to eat better. Before I changed my eating habbits, I weighed about 171.5 I weighed in the other day at 135.5 Now I'm going to see if I can try and maintain my current weight. It certainly wasn't easy getting to this point. But in all the months I was controlling my portions, I never once went hungry or had any weak spells. So I guess I treated the old bod well enough. I feel like i have more energy these days since I'm trying to eat all the right things. But still, red meat is a potential vice if I allow it to be. If the Simpsons were a real life family, I'm sure Lisa would probably root for me to go full vegetarian, but I gotta have a burger once a week. mmmm, burger.(Insert Homer Simpson gargly growl here followed by 5 seconds of giggling like a school girl)
But yeah, we left gram's and got to my cousin Angel's at about 7 or so. Her daughter Lilly was ready to go. Lilly's about 1 now, and although I'm not fluent in babyese yet, I know when she's pissed and tired of being held by everyone and wanting to go home. She didn't cry when I held her this evening. I was surprised. She's such a well-behaved baby. She only cries when she has to ride home in the car after dark. She didn't even do that this evening. She was all tuckered out after grandma's party.
Ok, I've jotted enough down for one evening. I was going to write a little more, but I'm tired too. I'm going to try to catch up with my friends' page now. I'll try writing again tomorrow some time. How's that sound, friends and random LJ readers alike?

fast food, babies, yada yada yada, birthdays
