DragonCon Update from the WORLD!
Hey, everybody!
First things first....Happy Birthday to Megan and Laura!!!! Join the Old People's Club! (You get a free cane!)

In other news...I was wondering about everyone's thoughts concerning Dragoncon. I've heard lots of people be "unsure" about attending (which, although it would suck, is understandable given the current financial times we're going through). I would like to discuss this in more detail and figure out what everyone's plan is. This is what I know so far:
-I plan on going, presuming that at least MOST of us are still on board
-Catherine is planning the same, again as far as I know.
-Megan may or may not be able to go because of surprise bills and lack of job security (again, understandable)
-Laura may/may not go again due to lack of job
-Danielle (I presume) is on board. She has moved...but I'm guessing that makes her more financially secure.=)
-Katie, as far as I remember, said she was swayed to attend (we offered to pay Gas/Parking for her). She may change her mind when she returns from Korea, though...we'll have to see.
...I guess my point here is that we need to make a firm decision. We can't have people backing out last minute, causing additional fees to the people who are still going. If we decide to reschedule that's fine...I just need to know WHAT we're doing...
I would LOVE a solid answer from EVERYONE (yes, everyone), so we're all on the same page. We have time to figure it out (since Cat comes back Next Thursday and Katie comes back on June...10th?)...but after that point it's basically 3 months until the Con.
In case people need a refresher on the financial part of it, here it is:
SO: Final Total per person...(using Hilton Hotel and 2/13 rate):
-Hotel: 170.64
-Gas: 24.00
-Parking: 24.00
-Food: 110.00
-Spending money (obviously extra): Whatever you want...=)
***This is inferring that you've paid for your ticket. If you have NOT add 70.00***
Total = 330.00 (398.64) for 6 people, 280.64 for Katie (we decided this because we offered to initially pay for her Parking/Gas portion so she could come along)
I obviously would LOVE for everyone to go. If we need to have a meeting to sort out potential problems we CAN do that: after all it'd be much more awesome if we worked TOGETHER to go to a new Con rather than "kicking people out"...just sayin=)
SOOO...tell me what you think. Any ideas to help out our friends who may be in financial straits? Any support/suggestions are wonderfully appreciated!
On another (weird) note: A-Kon is this weekend. 0_0.....woah. And we're NOT there...freaky.
