Ignorance
So I was surfing the web, and a completely unrelated topic popped up. The evils of Spirituality (other than Christianity of course). I'll give the writer some credit to the fact that he was grammaticly correct, and was strong in his opinion. But he gave out false information. Stating that Wicca was developed in 1954.... wtf.
Wicca nad Paganism is one of the oldest religions known to man. Far older than the baby religion of Christianity. It pissed me off at the assumptions, and accusations. Furthermore, this guy wrote more atricles on how Israel needs to smite Palestine, because they are godless terrorists who are all evil.
I am most angry at the pen power that this guy has. He's an editor and writer for a christian magazine (from what I read. If I can find the link again, I'll post it here). I mean.. why does this kind of ignorance get preached so commonly? Wicca, is a peaceful religion, designed for balance and good nature. Not some devil worshiping cult. Lumping teenage girl stupid satanic fantasies with a true and real religion is just offensive.
Now, I may claim to be an athiest. And at times I strongly feel that I am. However, when (and this does happen folks) I feel like there is a presence, I believe in a balanced and loving god (or goddess) not some jump-the-gun testosterone pumped up racist/sexist/homophobic being. I believe that a god would hate his or her creation simply because the being was a different color, sex, or homosexual, transgender, or bisexual. You can't control your sexuality, you can lie, but deep down.. you will know who and what you are. I can't believe a god or goddess would create a being like that only to hate it for being itself.
If I did choose to belive in a god, it would be one that loved it's beings for what they are inside,and praise them for living a full life, loving their fellow man or woman. And their ability to see through skin, gender, and sexual orientation.. and above all else: their faith.
And I'm rambling.. yay? Anyways.. I thought it was humorously ironic.. that this song should be playing once I finished reading...
