Here is one of the most quoted bible passages I know of in the 5 versions of the bible I meantioned in my previous post, so you can kindof see what I mean. All but the NRSV are from Biblegateway.com. The NRSV I typed from the hard copy in front of me.

you restore my strength. You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name.
Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage.
NLT's translation of the second part of the first verse is odd, because it doesn't make a statement about intentions or actions, merely status. The NAB translation is similar, though "nothing I lack" gives offer a rather different feel from "all that I need."
