Due to academic commitments,
silvermuse89 and
tarigwaemir will be stepping down as moderators for
blind_go and handing over the reins to
chaineddove,
doumeki and
trixie_chick. The new moderators will open sign-ups and provide information about the upcoming sixth round of
blind_go soon.
tarigwaemir:
The idea for
blind_go occurred to me as a way to hold a giant fandom guessing game for myself, with the added bonus of getting people to write more Hikaru no Go fic. I had no inkling at the time that people would grow so excited about the community and that
blind_go participation would increase with each successive round. It's been a wonderful experience for me to run this challenge: I've become closer to friends that I knew before
blind_go and made even more new friends, both oldtimers and newcomers to the Hikaru no Go fandom. I've also seen other friendships form, through the support thread and the weekly chats, and it makes me glad to know that
blind_go has played at least a small role in helping Hikaru no Go fans meet one another.
It was difficult for me to make the decision to step down as moderator, but I know that
silvermuse89 and I are leaving the community in good hands.
trixie_chick,
chaineddove and
doumeki have participated in the earliest rounds of
blind_go and shown considerable enthusiasm for this challenge. I suspect that they will continue to make the challenge grow even bigger and better than before.
I suspect that I will not be able to continue the same level of fandom activity as before, but I plan to remain involved in
blind_go as a participant by continuing to write, read and guess for the challenge. So this is not an actual goodbye. ^_^
Thank you, everyone, for making my
blind_go experience such an amazing one! I've had so much fun setting up and running this challenge; I hope that it's been fun for all of you too.

I find it hard to believe that
blind_go will soon be celebrating its second anniversary. I hope
blind_go will celebrate many more anniversaries to come It's been so much fun helping to run this challenge and see the enthusiasm people have for each round. The decision to step down wasn't made lightly, but it was made much easier knowing that the community will be under the care of three devoted Hikaru no Go fans. Though I will be decreasing my fandom involvement due to real life circumstances, I don't consider this a good-bye, but rather a "see you soon!" I look forward to watching the
blind_go community grow and I can't wait to see the wonderful Hikago fiction that will be in store for future rounds.
I would like to thank
tarigwaemir for creating
blind_go and being the best co-moderator in the world. Thank you all for making the past five (and a half!) rounds a delight to moderate. Good luck on Round Six!
