I dont know it yet, but somehow i'm going to be involved in the theatre; nothing superfluous (one can only dream) but something. Words of wisdom through/from observation: Today, pick someone you know, perhaps someone you know will be helped the most by this, and let him/her know (s)he is appreciated; nothing else. let that person know that what (s)he does in your life means something to you and you are grateful for it. don't make it up. be genuinely grateful. it's a simple gift that can make someone's day. we sometimes overlook or underestimate the simple power of a 'thank you'. anyone that works in serving people on a daily basis will recognize this. I had a man call up to complain about his policy being canceled; I listened and offered a course of action which he found quite helpful. The man was so very grateful; so much in fact that i could hear his smile over the phone and this he expressed verbally. Needless to say I had a more animated pep for the rest of the day. The guy didn't feed my ego or anything like that; it was simply a "thank you, you've helped me out greatly." I'm practicing the art of conscious gratitude; if i feel it, I say it. i'm trying to give up the notion of "that person knows (s)he's appreciated; it should go without saying".
Kayaking during spring break, after my near-death experience, is set a fever in me to do it as frequently as possible. I cant wait to get out there this summer. I can still picture jaq in the water gasping, my jumping in to help, mik's very moviesque, slow-motion "noooooo!", being drug under to later come up from the water and find casey stranded on the side of the "enraged river of death". i want that! Y not me? Dude this girl in my improv class is very much into dane cook… ::tear:: that’s beautiful.
Random snips of convo overheard while walking through the quad:
“Dude, I really think I’m addicted to coke.”
“… but what if the hair doesn’t grow fast enough and the dye is there forever. I should just go on and shave it.” (girl on the phone with no obvious dye in the hair on her head… mind in the gutter)
“…that was totally wicked.” (few can appreciate that one)
“… nah fuck that shit. I’m paying for it and that’s final.” ( girl with spiky hair, with shirt and tie. Not stereotyping, scouts honor.)
“You got a point, Tucker” (Teehee… Tucker)
“She dumped me cuz ‘supposedly’ I wouldn’t give her any space… fuckin bullshit… yeah I’ve been callin her all day, but she wont pick up.” (ah to be in lust and clueless)
I had others but forgot.
