RP LOG W/ROY

Jul 13, 2009 22:48

Jillia went back to her room, hid there for what seemed like hours while she cried. It seemed nobody cared about her own, personal, feelings when it came to her business. When she gained the strength after sobbing and sleeping it off, she changed into something else and left the room, going to her place on the marooned ship where she frequented ( Read more... )

Now those Highland bastards had done it, Roy was thinking to himself as he tended to his black eye courtesy of Seed. Then again, he figured it wasn't that bad, since he could always cover it up with his hair. Even so, it was a mood killer and in his mind, it was Seed who picked his fight and Roy was soon going to teach him that what comes around goes around.

Amidst his incoherent mumbling about vengeance, he noticed Jillia standing on the other side of the ship, and decided to approach her with caution this time around. His charismatic expression from earlier had faded, only leaving him to look at her as if she was to blame for the incident.

"Hey..."

Jillia was unaware of someone being near her until she heard footsteps, tears were quickly wiped away with sudden, fruitless efforts. How useless it was until she managed to stop after wiping to hard with her sleeve. The girl easily turned around to look presentable, her eyes noticed the black eye on the brown-haired boy. Immediately, she looked around and then pursed her lips to think of what to say,"...H-Hello? Do I know you?"

She looked so strange in the moonlight, it hit her dark hair and pale skin, giving off the thought that she might be a vampire, but she wasn't. Unable to stay comfortable standing above a man, she slipped down with trouble and put her hands in front of her.

"Does that hurt?"

"Somewhat." He left his response ambiguous on purpose; he does remember meeting her when she first arrived to Budehuc, but also met with her this morning, albeit in a different persona.

"Wh-what, my eye? ...No...!" As he told her another lie, he self-consciously covered the bruised eye with his hair. Although he was trying to hide his pain, it wasn't that hard for him to see Jillia's own attempts, even if he didn't understand what she had to be upset about.

"...besides, you're doin' enough sobbing for the both of us there."

Jillia frowned, she didn't like that he said one thing then said another. She was curious about his eye, his face even as it looked so familiar to her. Approaching him cautiously, she noticed his brilliant yellow eyes and even more familiar voice.

Yes, she was slightly ignorant, but not completely stupid as she knew something wasn't right.

"N-no, I wasn't...I wasn't..sobbing." She moved her hands to her cheeks and her hands rubbed her eyes slightly as if she was unsure if she'd still be crying.

"Well, I ain't gonna tell anyone if you hush 'bout my eye, yeah?"

Unsurprisingly, Roy found it hard to blame someone for his own problems when they'd look so vulnerable. He had to get her to stop the waterworks, first! His hands rummaged through his pockets, looking for some kind of fabric or tissue for him to offer, but to no avail. With nothing better to offer, he untied his yellow scarf and gently presented it to her... but secretly hoped she would not blow her nose in it, too!

"I..I won't tell.." She pursed her lips, acting as if he might be unkind if she were to even think of telling on her. Last thing she needed was the men in her life to find out that she had been sobbing because of them. Quietly, she moved a little closer, inspecting him a little more.

That's when he offered his yellow scarf and she looked at him for brief approval before she light wiped her eyes. Keeping it close to her, it looked so odd against her form that was covered in dark colours. "...What's your name?"

He felt a little cold without something around his neck, but that was probably because he was so used to wearing it all this time before. At the very least, it calmed her down for the time being.

"...you okay? -- Oh, yeah, I'm Roy." He answered nonchalantly. Him spreading his name was the last thing on his mind for now.

Jillia was much like an owl, her eyes were kind of wide with surprise. She came a little closer,"...R-Roy? I like that name..it's nice." Jillia bit down on her lip and shook her head a little,"...I will be, but it's fine." She lowered her eyes, holding onto his scarf for a long minute before she opened her hands and returned it to him.

"Thanks... I like it, too." He easily took the scarf back and tied it around his neck again as if it wasn't just used to wipe a person's face. There was an awkward silence as he slowly tied the knot. "...Y'know, it's okay to smile, too."

He looked at her with deep curiousity, wondering if whatever she wanted to confide in Frey had to do with her current mood.

It was rare that she was allowed to talk to someone who was not nobility without someone intervening. That suddenly concerned her, instead of saying something to him..she took his hand and tugged him with her into one of the spare rooms on the ship. Once she was sure she was alone, she let go of him.

"Sorry..I'm just afraid someone will see us and ruin everything. Like earlier." While the light in the room was slim to none, there was a window she went to stand near.

His comment made her smile, very briefly.

Roy was completely taken off-guard by her actions and found himself in a dark room before he even knew it himself. He gulped nervously, his mind getting a million different ideas of where this is headed, including possibly being murdered. But then, as he heard her speak, he remembered the earlier conversation himself.

"R-Ruin everything? Who? Those macho guys?" He feigned ignorance, despite knowing exactly what she was talking about - from experience!

Her eyes tried to find him in the dark,"..Lord Frey....he...listened, I guess. He was leaving and everyone seemed so mad at him...he didn't do..anything wrong...--I was afraid someone would catch me speaking with you.." She frowned, leaning a bit back, her hands touching the top of the window sill and staring directly at him.

"..I..thought...Lord Frey might care for me..but..he is gone. I thought they would not fight with him, he's royalty." Jillia sighed deeply.

"Your Lord Frey don't sound like much of an ace guy to me, sweetie." He couldn't pass up the opportunity to trash talk his rival, naturally. Although, he visibly scoffed at the idea of being told what he can't do.

"Am I not allowed to talk to ya? Is it 'cause I ain't from your social class?" Roy asked in a sort of casual, familiar tone rather than an aggressive one. After all, these rules weren't that much different in Falena.

"What a joke..." He whispered to himself.

She visibly lowered her head, keeping her eyes lowered for the moment. Oh, how unhappy the comment had made her, but he was probably right as Frey had been avoidant and then left for a trip. "..It seems that no men are allowed to speak to me, not even the royal ones. I thought of travelling alone to Harmonia, but..they would follow me and get so angry...--I don't know..." She took a deep sigh, her eyes rested on his face before lowering and turning away.

"S..orry..I am talking to much..'

Roy suddenly interrupted her, "Can I say something?" He hesitated a bit, trying to sound polite and understanding, choosing his words carefully. Deep down he knew that the best way he could get back at Seed and Culgan was if he made her turn away from them.

"Those guys... they care about you, but... I don't think they know what's in your best interests sometimes." Although his words were a ploy, they did carry some truth in them in his mind. There was something about her that drew out his sympathetic side.

Jillia went silent when he spoke over her, she nodded a little. The moment his words hit the air, she pursed her lips a little bit and nodded again to agree with his statements,"...I was just...a person to be married off...--" The black-haired girl couldn't help but feel that he was right even though she didn't want to believe it herself.
