IKR! I cried so freaking hard when I was reading Prim's death. I just. Even now, I can't deal with it because it's the worst! The one person she's certain she loves, and she dies! HOW?! I don't even. Ugh. But sometimes I think I should've seen it coming because of the parallels between Rue and Prim.

Oh Cinna's death also had me crying. That one was hard to take, and I'm actually interested to see how they do it in the movie. They better do it in the movie, it all I'm saying.

I also would've liked to have read a scene between Katniss and Gale. Idk, I have mixed feelings about Peeta and Peeta/Katniss, especially in terms of how much she seems to shut down when he's hurt. She totally becomes her mother. I just thought she'd react differently. But then she's been completely traumatized so I can understand it. But yeah, I really wanted something more with her and Gale, and with her and her mom given how important those people were in her life prior to Peeta. I find I don't really ship her with anyone. :/

I didn't cry when Prim or Cinna died. I should've. But I was too shocked when Prim died. I kept thinking, "What? Did I read that right?" And for Cinna, I wanted to believe he was going to pop up in the last book. B/c his death happened off page I was less sad by it and more in denial.

I wanted more in the epilogue about what happened to each character. The epilogue we did get was good and realistic, but I would've liked to know which relationships Katniss maintained.

I'm a pretty emotional person, so it wasn't hard for me to cry at certain points in the book. I've been known to cry during commercials lol. But it was shocking that Prim died and I can see how you'd not cry and just question if you read it correctly. As for Cinna, I think just the beating he got while she was watching was enough to make me cry because I knew what was going to happen next. :/

Oh I agree! I wanted to know more about Katniss and her relationships too. I thought that was important to the character so I was a little surprised by just the epilogue in it's entirety. It didn't feel that satisfying for me, but then I wonder if maybe that's supposed to be the point?

The saddest thing about Cinna's death is that it happened so quickly. They didn't get a chance to say good-bye or have a sweet moment.

You could be right. Maybe Suzanne felt like since war makes everything topsy turvy, she wasn't going to write an epilogue that was sappy and make it like everything was rainbows?

Yep, but I figured that was the entire point since Cinna was a person in her life that she immediately liked and trusted. It was meant to unnerve her, and it served it's purpose. Still, I agree.

Yes, war changed everything for Katniss so after that she was never going to have a happy ending. And that was made even more clear by Prim's death.
