OMG how can you read more than one book at a time? My brain wouldn't function.

Uh, well... I borrowed The Time Traveler's Wife (it's good, not as good as I wanted it to be) while I was at my sister's. Really, it's all me just getting distracted. lol

My sister, by the way, works in a small-town library (which is part of a network of libraries) so I'm usually able to go "can you get..." for me and she will. :D

I tried to read the first few pages of Time Travelers Wife when I was in Barnes & Noble to see if it'd be something I'd like and could keep reading. I wasn't pulled in. Is it something I should've give more of a chance? The premise seems interesting.

It might be, I made it to page 60 or so... I wasn't at my sister's for that long, and it was hectic as all get-out. I love the premise, but I found that the writing style left a lot to be desired, I'm not much for fiction to be written in the first person. I think it's definitely worth borrowing, I'm just not sure it's worth buying.

Jane Eyre is in 1st person. I think it takes me longer to read 1st person.

That's true, maybe Brontë was just really good with the first-person narrative, or it could be that Jane Eyre doesn't flipping jump around so much.

I never read Wuthering Heights, but from what I heard, I think Charlotte is the better writer.

I read it once, I fear I missed a lot so I'll have to give it another go. I couldn't really compare, it's been too long since I read Wuthering Heights.

Maybe I'll read the first few pages before I actually take it out of the libaray, so I can form my own opinion.

Yeah, that might be smart. I just hope that it's not like Jane Eyre where the plot takes forever to start going.

That was exactly my original problem with JE. My feelings are all over the place when it comes to the book. I didn't find the beginning to be diffult or boring. And I thought the plot moved quickly, but at the same time I felt like it was taking a long time for anything to happen and I had trouble caring.

Looking back at what I've read, I definitely see where you're coming from
