I saw Coraline today and I REALLY liked it. After paying $14, I better have liked it. The 3D was so cool. I wish I could see all movies in 3D now. I was very impressed with the animation.
Someone needs to tell movie characters to NEVER EVER go through mysterious doors or holes. Coraline going through the door made me think of Alice In Wonderland.
The "Other Mother" was totally freaky - at least when she turned into the half skeleton-half spider looking creature.
Loved the cat and how he helped her. Cats rule.
Some people complained that the ending was rushed, but I'm fine with the pacing. I was nervous watching the climax and if it had been any longer I think my heart would've stopped. I was tightly holding my sister's hand while watching the end. But really, I don't think Coraline was thorough enough in getting rid of the door's key. She threw it down a well WITH the "Other Mother's" hand. What if the hand manages to piece back together, climb up the well, and bring the key back to the other dimension? She should've burned the key.
Also, some feminists had complaints about this movie and I don't get why? Is it because the mom liked to cook?
